Lifetime Status Credits ending in "1" - why?

My Lifetime Status Credits balance is currently X,X01.

Until Ansett went under, I didn't pay much attention to my QF account. Was there ever a time when status credits were earned in multiples other than 5?

If SYD-MEL earned 8 then maybe SYD-CBR earned 7 (3x7=21).

Yep, I did a lot of 8 pointer MEL/SYD flights during the era of "Tier Credits"; also "Full Economy" earned 15 for flights up to 1000Km domestically.

When "Status Credits" were initially introduced they were only earned in multiples of 10, but for a long time I had a Lifetime tally ending in an incongruous 5.

I actually have a log of my flights dating back to when I started in QFF. SYD-PER was 12 SCs and others mention, 8 for MEL-SYD.

My first flight was on 12 Jan 2001 under the QFF program so I only had a few months on the old system, but my lifetime credits are x,886. Had quite a few friends ask about that as they're newcomers to the QFF program

IIRC, when the changes came in circa 2001, 1 Upgrade Credit (UC) = 1 Status Credit, if you had any left over...

I think you are getting mixed up with the handling of the old "upgrade certificates" which were converted into UC's. SC's were quite different.

In 2001 "Tier Credits" were replaced by "Status Credits". One's ongoing lifetime SC total includes any "Tier Credits" earned before 2001 at a 1:1 basis.

Presently 9,xx8.

Joined in mid-2000 and I believe the 8 came from a discounted SYD-JFK trip I did that year as did not do muc domstic travel until 2003 by which time I think the points system had changed.

Upcoming finish to a DONE and some other trips should push me over 11,000 by year end.
