Easiest way is Rewards Network Dining.
https://aa.rewardsnetwork.com/
Sign up, connect your AA account and your credit cards, and go have a beer or something at one of the places local to you. Opt in to get their emails so you get 3 points per dollar. Otherwise you just get 1 mile per dollar.
A $5 beer nets 15 miles, and resets your expiration. They take anywhere from 3 days to 10 days to post. If you go to 12 places in a calendar year, you get 5 miles per dollar for the remainder of that year as well as the following one.
And if you sign up, you can get a bonus 1000 miles if you spend $30 at a single location within the first 30 days. Tax and tip are included.
Go have a $15 dinner, and two $5 drinks. Tip $5. You spent a total of $30, and you get 1,090 miles in your AA account, plus you had a dinner you would have probably eaten anyways.

Thanks for the reminder!
Living in Europe now and booking all flights with *A for status.
We knew our AA miles were getting close to expiring and were just starting to explore options when this promotion was posted.
Thanks OP.
