Convert hotel points into UA miles 1:1.25 (25% bonus)
Looks like united is running an offer until 8/21 to convert hotel points into more valuable UA miles with a 25% bonus!

A 25% bonus is not the same as a 1:1.25 conversion rate. As I read it, the hotel points will be converted to UA miles at the hotel program's usual rate (Examples - 2:1, 5:1, 10:1), and then UA will add 25% to the amount of miles received.

See this thread:

Apparently you need to use the "old" website to perform this function.

So you would convert Marriott into United Miles and then use miles to exchange for a hotel stay + Marriott points?

Even without the promo, Marriott yields 1:1.1 in the 7-night Travel Package. 120k MR -> 132k UA.
So I guess I missed an opportunity to go 120k MR -> 152k UA. That is indeed a sweet deal if you have a use for UA miles and a single contiguous 7-night Marriott stay. (It's the latter that I sometimes have to think hard about whether I really need.)
