SIN to CGK vv on LH [merged Jakarta Q & A thread]

Hi,

I was just trying to price out the flight between Singapore and Jakarta on LH, but the system is just not spitting out any First class fares, I keep getting an error on it. I can get Business fares, but no First.. any idea if LH stopped First service on this route? I thought it was a B747 so First should be available.

Am actually trying to get about 5000+ miles to qualify this year for FT status. Any help on finding this 5000 miles as cheap as possible would be appreciated

Thanks

LH has the IATA full fare F on this route for 504US$ one way only. The discounted C fare (DPX1Y1) for 383 US$ return is a much better deal.

However, there are much more decent *A MR available ex SIN.

Strange that IATA is showing it, but from the LH Singapore site, they are not letting me quote this. Yes, their Biz one way is a good price, I was thinking of buying two separate one way, cause I need to make the turn around, which of course the system does not let me for a return. I know it should not be too difficult to do the turn around.

Yeah, there are some decent *A run, but for me problem is time, I am trying to do it within one day. Weird too that SQ removed it F service from the SIN-PEN route. However, for that price is rather expensive.. I can't believe that less than 1/2 year ago, the SIN-KUL was not too bad, but now it is really getting expensive even converting it to Euro

Smilingboy, thanks, for the tip, I might do that to top it off.

Turnaround at Jakarta Airport

I have a flight LH778 from Singapore to Jakarta arriving at 17.35 and then on another ticket i am on flight LH779 at 18.50 to Frankfurt Via Singapore in Business class. I have a number of questions.

1) Can i pick up my Jakarta -> Singapore -> Frankfurt boarding passes in Singapore ?

2) When i arrive in Jakarta are the arrivals and depatures sections seperate ??

3) Do i have to go through immigration ?

4) Do i have enough time (1 hour 15 mins) for the turn around ?

Thanks in advance

I haven't done the CGK turnaround on LH but have done on SQ many, many times.

If you already have your onward BP (recommended) on arrival in CGK simply go up the escalator or stairs just before immigration to departures level (you may or may not get rescreened). The departure tax of 100,000 rph (or equivalent in major currency) is payable at the gate. No need to clear immigration or visa on arrival. 1:15 is ample time to turn around.

If you do not have onward boarding pass then need to visit the transfer desk on the lower level before immigration. They may be able to issue there or may need to escort you through immigration to landside check in.

If this is not booked as one ticket, I suespect LH SIN will not be able to check you in for the CGK-SIN-FRA flight. At least that has been my experience in similar circumstances.....

Cheers, S

Yes have had the same frustrating experience heading into LHR without an onward boarding-pass, condemning me to the FCC and a missed connection.

LH CAN ONLY issue BPs at the departure-airport on the ticket.

Why not online check-in?

Hi,

I was wondering why don't you do an online check-in? Unless it is not possible for this CGK-SIN flight?

I myself might do this short turnaround, buying two seperate Biz one-way ticket.
Will be curious to know the solution to this.

Regards,

Same oppinion on my site. In Milan, this is the only way. Else, you have to go outsite in Milan.
Try, if this is not an option (whereby I prefer the normal bordingpass)

Don't think it will be possible

Hi,

I just found on the Lufthansa website the following
# Online check-in is possible for all same-day departures and from 18:00 hrs for all next-day departures.
# You may check-in for all flights you have booked with etix® on:

* Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, British Midland and LOT Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, British Midland or LOT as long as you are not starting your trip from Finland, Scandinavia or Switzerland.
* SAS or Swiss as long as you are starting your trip from a German airport.

So in general, this means that it is possible, though I am not very sure due to the following contradicting info.

Make sure that you arrive at the airport before boarding pass pick-up deadline.

But than, there is the info on printing the boarding pass. I think the best is to call LH in Indonesia.

Just FYI.

LH CAN ONLY issue BPs at the departure-airport on the ticket.
If they really want to, LH can issue BP on another ticket from another aiport - LH at TLV and BSL have both done this for me, with a bit of hassle. I think they called up or telexed to the departure airport and got them to print it remotely where I was, or at least release it to TLV/BSL to print out.

Called LH at CGK airport

Hi,

I just called the CGK LH airport office, and I spoke with this nice lady. I did not dare say that I was making a turnaround, but pretended to arrive on another flight from another alliance, with a connection time of 1h20m (which is the about same as the turnaround at CGK for LH, arriving 17.35 and departing 18.50), I was told that it was possible for me to get the boarding pass from the transfer desk. This is assuming that the arrival is in the same terminal.

From this, I can deduce that it is possible to do the turn around if you have sufficient connection time (1 h was the limit) and arriving in the same terminal.

Anyway, do let us know of the success.

Thanks for all the information everyone

If everything is on time i think it will be okay. However i thought of one scenario where it could fail. That is the case when the flight is late. If the SIN -> CGK flight is late and i arrive in CGK after the checkin deadline then they could possibly deny me boarding as i havent picked up my boarding pass on time.

I suppose i could tell them to put a note in the booking to advice them that i will be coming on the SIN -> CGK flight.

Will let you know how it turns out !!!

Thanks again !

There is no * lounge. The contract lounge SQ F uses at CGK is small but okay (gets crowded though) - but I do not know if LH uses this too.
