Original premium fare deal was for QR J class travel, originating in Vietnam (SGN and HAN) to several destinations across the Americas, Europe, and Africa. Travel period 8/2017 - 3/2018 inclusive, RT fares in the USD 500 - 700 range (USD $0.05 base fare).

Reports have now been circulating that all held, non-purchased fares have been canceled by the airline. Some held and then purchased fares were also canceled, but several reports indicate at least some of those have been re-instated.

For more information on flying Qatar Airways, visit the FT forum: Qatar Airways | Privilege Club. This thread in that forum is especially useful: Qatar Airways Forum Dashboard.

This wikipost is intended to help us better understand if there are any trends (by route, travel date, and/or held/ticketed status) in these cancellations. In all entries, please include: outbound or inbound departure date, origin-destination, original ticket status (only *if* "Held" or "Ticketed after Hold"), and current ticket status only *if* your ticket was cancelled ("Cancelled" or "Cancelled & Reinstated").

Keeping an eye out for a possible CC verification email as the parameters cry for one.

Booked from Indonesia (IP)
CC issued in U.S. (Amex Charge Card)
European Citizen
Vietnam Departure
Contact Info in Thailand

So far nothing. Still confirmed for late august HAN-FRA. Immediately Ticketed (No Hold).

Not sure why my entry in the wiki was deleted. But I have a glorious update! My originally held itinerary that was ticketed around 2:30am on July 31 and was cancelled has now been REINSTATED! I was about to send them an email this morning to get it in writing that the flight is indeed cancelled so I can make alternative plans as I do have legitimate travel needs. Out of a whim, I plugged in my PNR under manage my booking and voila! Its back!

Looks like QR is adding more flights to Vietnam! Great timing.

I wonder if an intern just thought: "oh wow, so much demand suddenly. Quick, more flights"

Mine is still not there. Additionally the money spent to hold for 72 hours has not cleared my CC. What to do?

Nothing. You didn't buy your ticket, you missed your chance. Sorry to be that harsh but those are the realities in the EF / Special Deal game.

This happens when more than one person edits at the same time, or in an overlapping period. Any change you make is then almost immediately overridden by the changes submitted by another person...who has been working on a version that cannot have seen the changes you made.

This. Also, I cleaned up the departure formatting in the wiki substantially so it's actually readable now. Lets keep it neat folks ^

EDIT: Once we have more insight into whether the fare will be honored it may be helpful for folks to update their itins with their exact travel dates and FT handles.

Got another message saying they didn't receive my dads credit card verification. On top of that, my dad is a little suspicious because my mom asked him for his social, his passport, and a statement. Hopefully they don't cancel the ticket because Ive sent in the info!

Put an itin on hold for 48hrs and it was cancelled, as with many others. I went ahead and sent a complaint to QR to see what they'd say. Here's their response:

Dear Mr Swingaling,

This is in reference to your email dated 1st August 2017.

On behalf of Qatar Airways, we would like to apologize for the system error which has regrettably led us to cancel your flight reservation - ABC0DE.

The systems error had caused the fares filed out of Vietnam to be exhibited incorrectly during the booking process and since the ticket payment has not been collected our end and no ticket has been generated, we have therefore cancelled your on-hold booking. We have also initiated an investigation to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.

Once again we would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for your kind attention.

Sincerely yours,

[name redacted]
Customer Care Officer
I'm not surprised they didn't honor the hold. Lesson learned. Anyway, this is interesting because it pretty much confirms that it was an error fare.
