You can do this with either two runs or one.

If you want to do it in one run you can do ATL-MSP-LAX-ATL in First Class for around $960 and earns 6,582 MQMs. Found it available on 12/18 and 12/13.

If you want to do it in 2 runs you can do ATL-LAX-ATL in First Class for $726 which nets 5,838 MQMs and then do a quick run to literally any airport from ATL and back to get the final MQMs.

The only way I see this being done domestically is a first class ticket to Alaska or if you do a first class ticket to SEA, but you must force the routing through ATL both ways in order to hit 8,429 MQMS. These flights are all $1,300++

Examples

https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...sc=b;a=SKYTEAM

The GF links don't work but they are bookable straight on Delta.com.

There are different routing combinations depending on what layovers you want, but they all earn 7,700 MQMS or more and more than $798 MQDs.

Thanks for your reply. I just decided to go to Las Vegas for Christmas. Any idea how I can do it and earn what I need? Again, thank you for your help.

If you route through ATL or SLC on both legs from and to PHL you will just get over the 7,200 mark buying a first class ticket. Unfortunately I couldn't find a ticket less than $1,200 for around Christmas. See below, which reprices to $1,222. You can play around with the dates if you'd like and see what prices you can get, just make sure you're routing through SLC or ATL and it is first class.

If you have a Chinese visa, this run to PEK will yield over 14k MQMs.

The direct link to DL doesn't appear to work from GF, but it is bookable on DL's site.

Mileage Run to Platinum

Departure Airport: MSP
Miles Needed: 3388
MQD Needed: $1,801
Available Travel Dates: Between now and 12/31
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: Any that yields the most MQDs

I am currently Gold Medallion for 2017 at MQMs: 71,612 and MQDs: $7,199 through domestic travels. I have solicited suggestions here on whether to go for Platinum status or not. However, I need to develop a just in case strategy. A mileage run that will yield the most MQDs and if possible to LOS or JNB before December 31, 2016.

Trying to figure out whether to do a mileage run for Gold. I'm in Italy now, so I can't quite figure out how many MQDs I'll get on the way back. I'm silver already for next year and will just turn MM on my way home next week.
MQMs needed: none (way over at close to 65,000)
MQDs needed: About $1400
Home airport BOS or PWM or BGR

Since as MM in theory I will have annual silver status from now on (unless they enhance MMs), I'm wondering what I should do -- the rollover miles probably won't mean much as I won't be flying as much (or will be doing mostly award travel) next year.

I only travel internationally for a reason but would there be an easy mileage run that would get me 1400 MQDs to get to gold?
Thanks
