My morning schedule is such that I don't usually turn my computer on until about 8 or 8:15. grrrr. I don't think I had much of a chance- although I was planning on using the multiple browser/date strategy, but it doesn't seem fair to change the time like that. I think I will write a comment.

Wow - just tried for it (9 AM) and came here to see who got lucky...really, really stinks that they changed the time. Will say 'thank you' to them by canceling a reservation I had in that hotel for mid-March.

Had my calendar reminder set @ 8:45 as well given the original promo time.

I even had an email inviting me to the offer, but did not get an updated one with the new time.

Odds were low of getting a room, but pretty disappointed to not even have a chance.

I thought I was brain dead too when I turned on my computer at 8:50amPST to see comments on my blog that this sale happened at 8am.

Then I looked at my blog post from Feb 12 and I had copied the JW Marriott website sale offer and I have a picture of the 9am PST time copied from their website on Saturday.

My thought: What kind of .......s change the time to an hour earlier?
I could see an hour later, but not an hour earlier.

Investigating this a little more I see there was an article from Friday Feb 11 on Luxist.com stating the time was 8am PST.

That indicates to me that the originally scheduled time for this offer was for 8am PST and some idiot at Marriott put in the wrong time on their JW Marriott website and had to correct it; probably Monday morning.

I was pissed to walk out of a meeting and find out the time had already passed for this deal.

Anyway. It has been 34 years since this Californian has traveled to downtown LA and now I have no compelling reason to go back again yet.

Also I see the original press release dated Feb 9 showed 8amPST, so it was a hotel entry screw-up for the 9am time posted on the website.

Not our problem that they said 8:00 am elsewhere. That link said 9 am all the way up until yesterday when I was checkign dates and figuring out how I was going to set up my browser windows.

BUMMED

I was all set and ready to go for this wonderful offer.
I folloowed the link, logged in to Marriott at the exact moment and Viola!
The Birthday Package came up for $90,000!!!!!
I freaked out and did not follow through on the reservation.
Hopefully someone can explain what happened. I read on this board that this happened to someone else to at the rate of $80,000.

There was alot of confusion and Marriott should extend the offer

I have heard so many complaints from event organizers about the poor training and "just say no"attitude of the staff at this property that this foul up does not suprise me one bit!
