This is the thread for posts through 2016. The new thread for 2017 is http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manufactured-spending/1826119-billpay-walmart-2017-a.html
Bill Pay cannot be done at a regular register.
It must be done at Customer Service/Returns.
Or at the Money Center in stores that have it.
BUSINESS DAY transaction completion time is 18:59:59 EST
--------------------------------------------------------------
WM offers two BP services: CheckFreePAY and MoneyGram. The cashier can initiate CheckFreePAY by selecting Money Services followed by Bill Pay on the register for a fee of $1-1.88. Moneygram is $4.99.
Once your CFP account is set up, you can add cc. When you want to BP give them your phone# to look up your account under Money Services. They often get confused and think you want MG, but just say it is under Money Services.
ONLY 4 successful debit card swipes can pay for a transaction.
ONLY 5 payments per 16 digit account number per rolling 30 days.
--------------------------------------------
:-:VISA and MC
If your particular card isn't on the list below, try "VISA" or "MASTERCARD."
"VISA" and "MASTERCARD" payee can no longer be found by search at some stores. If the employee can no longer find "VISA" or "MASTERCARD" by searching in CheckFreePAY, then you cannot pay either, end of story.
Following do not work:
$1.88 next day.
$1.88 next day.

If anyone has used the new Moneygram bill pay, were you able to split more than 2 ways?

I find this so strange. Not doubting you, but WTH is wrong with these systems? Today I was at MC and on a TV on the wall adverts for checkfreepay @ WM were cycling through the screen. WM was promoting it! Thankfully CSR found it in system and I paid 5 bills. I really hope this doesn't end at my WMs.

I went to pay my CC for $1998, first time it went through; 2nd time it said contact biller or not allowed. I'm not sure if there is a limit of 2K per day. I know there is limit of 5 Bill pays or 10K per 30 rolling days.

Is it rolling 30 days? that means you can only pay maximum of 5 times in last 30 days, not calendar month.

It's the transaction date, it doesn't matter if it was Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

I don't think they lost it. Mine had an update Tuesday night. It's now a different process, but it is still there. It's all consolidated now under financial services.
First you setup an account which is saved (name address phone), then you select the payee. Visa, CapitalOne etc are still there.
Then you select the method. There are many more methods, but the ones costing 1.88 and 1.50 are still there amongst others for 4.50 and 9.99. The CSR may need to scroll down to find the 1.88 Visa option or 1.50 CapitalOne option as probably with other payees.
When it's done you now get two receipts, instead of one.
The next time you pay, you enter your phone ...your name, address and previous paid accounts/methods are retrieved. The CSR selects an account to repay or adds a new one and the process continues. This simplifies the process as they don't need to search for a biller once you've paid it once, they only need to enter the account once for verification and they don't need to enter your name each time you come back to pay.
These are general steps: I did not take detailed notes, but did walk through the screens with a CSR as it was their first time with the new process.
