I just noticed this thread.
Yes I've been briefed about VR, Bluebird, Target and Simon.
I can unselfishly say nothing like this exists in HK - because every time you have something that can be almost realised for cash like that it gets maxed within four hours of release (lastest example: TNG v1 got maxed on the day of release, and v2 had to impose 2.5% transaction fee https://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/show/18601?page=1)
You can say the closest thing we have to US-style MS is Wechat Pay, which allows $5,000 cash out from credit cards per month - hardly enough to fund MS lifestyles. Unfortunately many HK banks (incl SCB, and you can't use an Amex on Wechat Pay) have cottoned onto their cardholders giving Red Packets to themselves every day and declared it ineligible spending.
How we get our miles is by selling GC to traders. I think I already said enough on this one:

Signed up via wechat wallet and it only gives me the option to top up via & Eleven. Also can you withdraw to a bank account like HSBC?
Cheers

Edit 15/10 19:54: pointstomiles has very kindly wrote a howto https://www.facebook.com/notes/%E9%8...6369877941039/. We don't have the earn rates confirmed just yet, but a lot of banks (BoC (i-card), CCB (eye), SCB (SCB AM), DSB BA), Bankcomm (FWD Plat Visa) and BEA (Flyer World)) are all treating it as online retail spending ATM - a lot of the banks may change their minds when it comes to rebating promos tho (this is where the delayed rebate really works for the banks).
Edit 18/10: HSBC is a no here.
