Just be nice to us locals ... we can't even eat there!!! Remember to avoid mud season ... although it hasn't even snowed here yet.
Really, the area is a nice, peaceful place to vist.

Winvian - from $1450 (all detached villas)
The Point - from $1250 (villa from $2600)
Twin Farms - from $1100 (villas from $1750)
Blackberry Farm - from $745 (villas from $1340, 1-3BR)
so besides room/villa, the difference really comes down to
- free F&B and activities
- additional costs for other activities, spa, and premium beverages
(note the first 3 are top 4 by rate in the US, after the Mansion in Vegas)

did you look at the winvian site? it takes a very long time for almost all page transitions, without regard to internet speed. its simply the delays caused by how long the transition animations are programmed to take. its ridiculous.
its like having a 90 second intro that you cant skip. ive seen that on probably half a dozen hotel sites, and many more residential sites.
its not about technology, its about incompetent management of IT projects, such as web design. managers who know just enough to tell the designers to implement all sorts of bells and whistles, but not enough to realize that at a certain point they just become a hassle/time waster for consumers.

personally, i love FS's site. room lists, rate lists, most have floorplans. ^

"Relaxing Escape with Outstanding Food"
We stayed in one of the Winvian cottages, Camping, for a weekend in early January 2007, as their first guests. The design of the cottage is stunning; you feel that you are living in the woods. It is comfortable and secluded. There are lots of gadgets in the room; it was not obvious how to operate some of them (ask for instruction manuals). Although camping is one of the smaller cottages, it was enough for us and our dog loved it.
The food was the highlight of our stay - the chef, Chris Eddy, and the food manager, Paolo Middei, took exquisite care of us. Before every dinner, we picked out wines at the cellar. All the meals were terrific.
Liked: stars
Disliked: things that are not working yet

But the highlight at Winvian is the 5,000 square foot spa, which has on its menu Eve Lom facials--this is the first US spa to offer them--and various body treatments that use Ren products. Developed by two of Britain's most sought-after skincare firms, the treatments focus on the natural and organic. Ren products, for example, are created without any manmade ingredients. Eve Lom, who adheres to a "less is more" skincare philosophy, uses a minimal amount of product and stresses the importance of moisturizing. One of the six treatment rooms, the Forty Winks Suite, with its circular woodburning fireplace and two treatment tables, is ideal for couples; another room features a state-of-the-art air-jet tub for chromatherapy and hydrothermal massages...

Thanks for the help. I read zigzag's review and I am not diso....ing it, I just wonder if there are any others. Winvian has been open for a bit now and the reviews are coming in real slow. I guess price is a factor in that!
For that kind of price I really want to know what I am getting into.
Thanks again.
