did you look at the winvian site? it takes a very long time for almost all page transitions, without regard to internet speed. its simply the delays caused by how long the transition animations are programmed to take. its ridiculous.

its like having a 90 second intro that you cant skip. ive seen that on probably half a dozen hotel sites, and many more residential sites.

its not about technology, its about incompetent management of IT projects, such as web design. managers who know just enough to tell the designers to implement all sorts of bells and whistles, but not enough to realize that at a certain point they just become a hassle/time waster for consumers.
