The A359 will have the current C seat, mainly because there was no time to get the new version ready for certification on the A350 type. The B779 will have the new seat.

Lufthansa A350

Hi
I was wondering if the A350s have been added into the online booking system yet, I have read articles about them coming online MUC-BOS in January but all flights showing as A346s. If they haven't been added to the booking system yet when are they likely to be added?
Thanks

The first A350 for LH (D-AIXA) is currently being painted and scheduled for delivery 12/2016. The second (D-AIXB) is undergoing outdoor ground tests and is too scheduled for 12/2016 delivery. However, with most other deliveries delayed, I doubt it will be flying in January.

Do you know if LH plans to use the A350 also on internal Germany/European routes as training for crew? (as, for example, Finnair did last year)

I'm 99% sure they will, but I don't think it has been announced yet.

The flights have already been adjusted to A359 capacity, DEL is going C/E/Y config already this week. BOS will go the same way in December. If the A359 is late, they will just use A346 and A330 instead.

There are some rumors that the next generation will be the same for LH,LX and OS. I hope they follow the LX model rather than the LH one which won't get a 5star.

That would mean installing the vantage XL (next gen from LX/OS/SN who have the Vantage). But the XL hogs space. I'm sure there is a team working on how to minimise the space issue VS open feel of the cabin etc.

They could also ask United to borrow Polaris seating for the 779 (fits on the A350 too, not sure that they have a 787 design yet, although the 787 design could potentially fit into an A330/340). Unlikely, but possible.

That's cute. A French registration number and a German flag. When does the registry transfer to a D-XXXX number?

AFAIK once the plane is paid by the customer and the title is transfered, then the registration is changing to the final D-.... registration. The F-.... registration is just a sticker that can be peeled of easily.

Test re/tail# of airbus aircraft is D-AXyy or F-WWyyy and flight numbers are AIB000. Once the title is xferred, the carriers Tail# is assigned/attached. Boeing mostly uses the future tail# straight away.
