needed Hotel advice for Free slot play & gambling credit

Flyertalk,
I am looking a casino or sugestions for a hotel that is offering free bets with a a 2-3 night stay.. I would be out there Feb 28th-Mar 3rd with the Girlfriend. I did see one on Groupon but that does not have the dates I am out there.

Thanks

These offers are generally only available for people that are members of the casino reward program OR as a bonus to sign up.

Not sure if its what you are looking for but the Tropicana will reimburse your first $200 loss in slots with $200 in slot free play for the first day that you join their casino program.

Not a bad deal imo and you don't have to be staying there.

Agree, the Trop has this offer and I believe a few more casinos. The Downtown Grand and the Plaza/Las Vegas Club had similar offers, but I think they are gone.

I also do not know what the OP is looking for. If OP is looking for a credit line, that can be set up prior to their visit by calling a Casino Host. If OP is looking for deals - buy this book: http://www.americancasinoguide.com/

It has lots of match play, dining discounts, and other coupons. (((I have nothing to do with this book))). I wait until May or June and buy it every year, when the book is 50% off. Using one or two coupons pays for the book.

From OP: I am looking a casino or sugestions for a hotel that is offering free bets with a a 2-3 night stay.
If you have no status with a Casino Slot Card program, I do not know any casino that has ever offered FREE bets in LAS or any other city. "Comps", based on play are another story - not free play. It takes time and $$$ to build up free play. Overall it is not "free play".

The days of "fun books" and junket trip deals such as Vegas World are limited.

VEGAS WORLD:

Vegas World was a casino/hotel opened in 1979 on Las Vegas Boulevard owned and operated by Bob Stupak. It was also signed as Bob Stupak's Vegas World.

Stupak bought the 1.5 acres (0.61 ha) of land on which he would eventually build Vegas World with money he raised himself and from his father's friends. On March 31, 1974, he built a small slot joint called Bob Stupak's World Famous Historic Gambling Museum. Although, on May 21, the place burned down when an air conditioner caught fire.

After the fire he managed to persuade Valley Bank to lend him more than $1 million to complete what would be known as Vegas World. Vegas World opened on Friday 13th, 1979. At first, Vegas World suffered but Bob Stupak's talent for promotion saved it. Stupak developed weird and original rules for traditional games, unique to Vegas World. Another of his successful promotions was his direct-mail coupons offering value packages.

At its peak, Vegas World made $100 million a year in gambling revenues.

Vegas World is remembered by some as one of Vegas's most unusual and quirky casinos. Vegas World closed on February 1, 1995, in order to make room for its successor, the Stratosphere, Stupak's dream project. Stupak died in September 2009.

Prior to its closing, Vegas World featured the world's largest mural. It was also known for having 1 million dollars in cash on display in the casino. The showroom featured an Elvis impersonation show, with EP King and Terry Presley as performers.
I met Stupak a few times. Great BIO: http://www.ask.com/wiki/Bob_Stupak?lang=en

Good luck OP and have a great visit to LAS. Perhaps you could be more specific on your question(s).

Also, I would not advise staying at the Tropicana. Gamble there - do not stay.

A comp night for Saturday night even in Sin City can be a challenge for a newbie to their VIP/guest program, if OP belongs to another similar program on the East Coast - they will usually match with an identical or better offer - calling up & ask to speak to a host, inquire about a "casino" rate.
Sometimes, they will comp'd you based on actual play level (size of bets & time on the floor, etc.) at the end of your stay - doesn't hurt to ask. Check out the properties' own website as specials are usually posted.
TropLV has been remodeled & we just stayed there last October (host comp'd 4 nights) and we're just about $$ "even" @ checkout, and it's easy to walk across to MGM, NY-NY and Excalibur. Checkout the fine prints about the Trop's offer for new players signing up for the card/rewards program.
The other place worth checking out is Station Casinos - "small" Palace Station off Sahara Ave further north, just across the highway on the other side of the "Strip" - slots have better payouts & very low limits on table games - rates are pretty low for weekdays too even if you have to "pay" your own $$ for it. Both places have a $20 (or so) daily resort fee on top of taxes as surcharges (waived by our hosts, of course) - but, sometimes, it's bettter to pay your own if you can get a good deal. There is NO guarantee that you will come out ahead & win if the rules called for play xx # of hours at average $ bet per hand, etc. - the old saying that "there's no such thing as a really free meal" these days in Sin City, the good old $2.99 steak & egg breakfast at midnight are long gone (well PS still got a few good deals at its 24/7 coffee shop off the slot floor, LOL)

Don't stay at the palms. Jk. But ure going at a pretty slow time. Surely there were low rates on the strip at comparable hotels.

I agree with this. I would not recommend the Palms.

OP take a look at the MGM Grand (specifically the Grand King). Might be a bit more expensive, but being on the Strip will save you time.

As far as the hotel, it depends on what you are looking for. Palms attracts a younger crowd. Basically, all the young beautiful people who can't afford to stay at Cosmo. Palms ironically also gets a fair amount of senior citizens. It's an interesting vibe there, to say the least. Hard Rock is similar as far as the crowd, at least to me. Then again, this isn't really my target demographic, so I may not be up on all the nuances of the young'uns nowadays.

Both Palms and Hard Rock are off the strip, so you will need a car, or will need to pay for taxis to get anywhere. Aside from the cost, getting anywhere in Vegas by car on the weekend is a pain. The strip can turn into a parking lot at times. I would strongly recommend staying somewhere on the strip instead. Caesar's has pretty effectively locked up the prime mid-strip locations. At the high end, you could stay at Caesar's Palace (their Octavius tower is really nice). At the low end, the Linq is very affordable and has a prime location. Paris and Bally's would be your choices in between these two. Bellagio (pricey but nice) is also in that same area. These would be my prime targets if location mattered.

Alternatively, if you mainly want a nice hotel and a reasonable rate so you can hang out with the GF, then you may want to go completely off-strip and choose either Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch, or the M resort. All of these are a hike to get back to the strip. Plan on 20-30 minute drives, but they are a great value for the money IMHO.

It really just depends on what you are looking for. If you want the Vegas excitement and night life, stay on the strip. There are plenty of affordable places which are OK if your not planning on hanging out in your room much. On the other hand, if you are looking for a lot of room for the money, stay off the strip completely. My problem with somewhere like the Palms, Hard Rock, or Rio is that you are not close enough to the strip to walk, so you need to get in a car / cab regardless, and yet you are still not getting the great value that can come with a truly off strip property.

If it makes a difference to the OP, the Rio has free shuttles that run to Ballys and Harrahs (one to each -- pick the one you want to get on) all day and night until about 1:00am. The rooms at the Rio are a bit worn, but they're very large, with decent amenities. The Rio is also easier to get comps for, compared to some other Caesars Entertainment properties.

I didn't know this.

Assuming that the Rio isn't all that diligent on checking room keys to use their shuttle, the Rio is a short walk from the Palms, so that might be an option if the OP stays at the Palms or the Rio.

They don't check room keys at all.
The pick up and drop off point is not at the front door, but is on the west side of the hotel, just outside the entrance closest to the Buffet. This entrance is closest to the Palms as well, I think. One of the shuttles drops off at the left side of Bally's, and the other drops off at the back of Harrahs.
They make one run about every 20 minutes or so, so when you get on you have to sit and wait for a bit before it leaves, but it's no big deal. They run in both directions, btw - it's not just a one way drop off service (however, you can't take one from Harrahs to Ballys or vice versa -- they run to and from the Rio to those two properties.) And it's free!^
