Citi pulling out of Japan - what happens to ATMs?

AFAIK Citi is pulling out of Japan for their retail banking businesses. Does anyone know if Citi ATMs will still work the same way for US Citi customers across Japan?

CITI has pulled out of their former retail banking division. It is now called Prestia/SMBC Trust Bank. Branches are all the same except everything is green. I am customer and there have been no service changes as of yet (although I am sure SMBC will F it up eventually). Your CITI card should still allow you to withdraw cash at Prestia/SMBC ATMs, I don't know about any other CITI retail banking services though.

Just to note, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust bank took over Citi's retail deposits/branches (the name for credit cards hasn't changed yet), not the regular SMBC.

No news how they're going to mess up things, although I expect it'll happen rather soon - probably with endless inflexibility and paperwork.

I tried using the former Citi machine at NRT. Citi ATM cards are part of the Mastercard network and they don't work. However, the 7-11 Bank ATM downstairs worked fine.
