Points for Elite Status – For purposes of determining Elite status, IHG® Rewards Club points are classified as either Qualifying Points or Non-Qualifying Points. Points earned from Qualifying Rates paid for hotel stays, spend on IHG® Rewards Club credit cards, select partner activity, IHG® Rewards Club Bonus Points Packages, and Qualified Spend through IHG® Business Rewards are considered Qualifying Points and are counted towards Elite status. A Qualifying Rate includes the following: non-discounted rate, standard corporate rate, worldwide sales negotiated rate, national/regional/local government rate and specified leisure rates as confirmed by the IHG reservation system. All other point earning transactions, including points earned from IHG® promotions, Elite status bonuses, activation bonuses or select promotions offered through IHG® Rewards Club credit cards, select partner promotions, point vouchers, point purchases, point transfers, and point deposits, will be considered Non-Qualifying Points and will not be counted towards Elite status.

For any IHG property, including the ones listed below, it's a good idea to check the IHG app for additional bonus point packages. For whatever reason, the IHG website does not always include all points packages that can be found in the app.

The 5k ones are always there.

When you are logged in click on offers and then IHG reward club offers which takes you to another screen. Near the bottom is an option for up to 5k bonus point packages.

When you search it shows up all the 1k and 5k packages. You just have to search through them for the 5k ones, I haven't seen anyway of searching for them without the 1k also showing up.

I don't think the 5k is there 100% of the time. But the 1k is, whenever I can I always book with the 5k bonus points.

That is what I noticed also. But before I was also a bit confused because the 2k and 4k packages apparently disappeared from what I see.

The 5k is definitely there all the time for Europe, I book at least four of them a month as some of the hotels I stay at the 5k rate is the same as the best flexible.

The 5k rate is not available at every hotel whereas the 1k generally is. For the ones that do it though it they have been there for at least the last two years.

They do not appear in the regular booking portal all the time and you have to go through the offers page to get most of them but they are there all the time. If you aren't going through the offers page the chances are you wont see quite a few of them.

The 1k rate is usually there if you just book through the homepage. Not sure why the 5k doesn't show up.

When you look at it from that angle it's easy to understand why it isn't viewable when searching through the normal channels.

They are definitely on the desktop site which is viewable on an iPad if that helps, I don't think you can get the desktop site on an iPhone anymore.

If you log in, hover over the offers tab and then click on rewards club offers. Near the bottom of that page is the 1k and 5k bonus package page.

My comment referred to earlier readings here that while IHG typically offers max 5k bonuses through their engine, those higher point packages seem to be hotel-specific and apply only for "bonus" but not elite status. In other words, I have no earlier experience myself, but judging from the other posts I would not build my status chase on that specific 25k offer. Might lead to disappointment. But OTOH sometimes things happen and those could as well be status-earning, YMMV
