Thumbs up Changes to AI-FR FFP

FlyerTalk member CCU_Flyer has reported in the AI-FR Membership Kit thread about upcoming changes to the AI-FR FFP:

1. Enrollment of kids from the age of 2 to 12 years
2. minimum of 500 miles for traveling short sectors
3. Family pooling - I think with children
4. Travel points for tier upgrades

The letter mentions that I need 120 travel points or 75000 miles in the next year for tier upgrade to the maharaja club. No mention of how the tier points are calculated though.

Seems a lot of changes is planned but not sure by when they will start implementing.
IMO, a nice enhancement & a welcome change to the program..! ^

Minimum 500-mile enhancement can't come soon enough. I was recently on a discounted HYD-PNQ sector and received a grand total of 78 miles !

With reference to this post, I dropped a follow-up email to AI and got this reply literally within minutes:

Dear Mr ABC,

This refers to your email copy.

As confirmed to you the change was requested to our service provider and the same is approved by AI.

We are in the process of testing the applied change and will be implementing this ZONE based redemption rule very soon.

Kindly request you to bear with us till such time.

Thanks for your support.
