We are thrilled to share the great news that the former Emma Children’s Hospital in Amsterdam will be transformed into a Hyatt Regency, expected to open in 2015!
Hyatt Regency Amsterdam will be the first Hyatt Regency hotel and the third Hyatt-branded hotel to open in Amsterdam, joining our property and the planned late-2013 opening of Hyatt Place Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

Interesting news. Thank you. I've just looked up the location. It's outside the inner ring by the Vondelpark. For those familiar with the Hilton, it's that distance beyond the inner ring, and a few blocks north of it.
It's good to see increased emphasis by Hyatt in Europe.

I also saw this ine one of the local financial papers..... Included in the article was that hotel occupancy in 5star hotels in AMS was rising for the last few years. And that when all the museums were closed :-).
3 Hatt brands in 2015 in AMS.... Who would have thought a year ago.
Seems this one is a lot more convenient located for me when working in AMS than the Andaz.

Does anyone have an update on the new Hyatt Regency in Amsterdam.
All I can find is this article projecting a 2016 opening.

Nothing but an opening somewhere in 2016. And that's how it usually works with new properties..... They will only finalise an opening date a lot closer to that date, not more than a year in advance.
The project site states a beginning of 2016 delivery, but I expect that to be for the building itself... Not the interior. So probably late 2016.

I see a reply from 2013 saying the location is near Vondelpark, but I found a sure referencing it was near Sarphatistraat. Does anyone happen to know the address that I can look up on Google Maps?

Expected opening date somewhere in the beginning of 2016 (probably somewhere before the summer).

Indeed.... and not even mentioned on the reservation page when searching Amsterdam properties. So doubtful they will open anytime soon, or even in 2016.
I will have a look at the building when I'm in town in the next few weeks to see what progress is being made.

I was hoping for Summer 2017--not much evidence of that happening either
