We now need Mileage Addict to post his memorable post on the stages of a Mistake fare.

Re Starwood, they have honored some but not all. They honored the $25 NYC W Times Square rate. They did not honor the Bora Bora mistake. They did not honor the St Francis mistake fare for the upcoming Christmas holidays. In fact, I did not even get an email; they simply changed the rate that was shown online in my reservation.

They kinda honored the Lanesborough mistake (but not the throw-ins like LHR transportation, though Orbitz covered the extras for those that booked there rather than spg.com).

They honored the Le Meridien Khao Lak mistake.

And the Sheraton Portland, ME rate IIRC.

Some yes, some no, some kinda. Prepaid with cancellation penalty helps. We shall see.

1st two nights

Try just the 1st two nights (11/23 to 11/25)... instead of all. I can still book it.. just for the first two. ^

I was able to nab 11/23-25. Thanks OP! I always wonder why does a mistake rate like this happen for a specific date or two? Are these rates input on a date basis by a person?

Have you ever been to the Prince de Galles bar before?

I know from an economic standpoint, I've got to drink elsewhere.

The way you want! I see we´ve got the 525 ones, described as:

Spacious Wardrobe, Superior Room, Luxurious Marble Bathroom, Classical Furniture, High-speed Internet For A Fee And we all know That Fee

So, see you at the Kebab store next door mate
Cheers

Edit to say: And.... I think I got the last room on sale. Hope not

Here you go!

The eight stages of mistake fares

1. Fare discovered and posted on FT
2. Level 1 excitement - fare purchased
3. Level 2 excitement - receiving email confirmation
3. Level 3 excitement - paper tickets received via FedEx
4. Level 1 stress - Will the deal be honored? and... Why did that one bonehead call the mistake source!?
5. Level 2 stress - contacting the media and lawsuit discussion (this is the most entertaining phase to read on FT)
6. Level 4 excitement - positive confirmation from source about mistake being honored
7. Requests for info about activities at destination
8. Trip reports
