Arrow [ARCHIVE to 2015] Conrad Bali {IDN}

Went to Conradhotels.com and a new addition to there list has popped up-Bali.

Set to open early 2004.

Located on the southern coast of Bali, conveniently situated only 10 kilometres (6.5 miles) from the Nqurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar) and next to the Nusa Dua resort area. Secluded on 6.6 acres of tropical gardens and lagoons with cascading waterfalls, the Resort is complete with its own private white sand 300 metre beach. Embraced in contemporary Balinese architecture, each of the Resort's 313 guest rooms and suites overlook the Indian Ocean toward the island of Nusa Penida, while the 20 private villas, each with their own pool, are surrounded by gardens and lagoons.

That is the summary that the website provides, but I am fairly surprised about this location.

New Conrad - Bali

Dear All,

Does anyone have more information on the new Conrad in Bali.
It says in the Conrad Hotel book that it will open late 2003.
I have tried to book room for april 2004, but even the Diamond desk can not assist.

What is the status of the hotel ?

Cheers

Thomas

Don't think you can make reservations from the Conrad site--no link from Bali Hotel listing and no listing in drop down list.

When I was in Bali last month, there was a huge billboard along the main road at the junction to Benoa. Names of all the hotels in the area were listed on that billboard, and the name CONRAD was prominiently displayed.

So we should be expecting the resort to open its doors pretty soon !

They are saying on the website that it is a US5 mil renovation.
I wonder if the hotel is the old Hilton as it is in Nusa Dua. and does look a little like the old hilton plan with a lot of villas on the side.

Sorry for my misinformation earlier about reservations (provided by Sydney HH). There is no opening date according to same source, suggested perhaps March.

The Conrad Bali is a brand new hotel, and not a renovation of the Bali Hilton which is about 10 minutes away in the Nusa Dua Complex.
Have spoken to the hotel directly and the opening date is set for the 12th March at the moment.
Looks set to be an amazing resort though, can’t wait to visit
