2011-2012 Volvo S80 3.2 Ride Report/Review
Rented both a 2011 Volvo S80 3.2 from Hertz, and a newer 2012 Volvo S80 3.2 from National, and combined into same review. They both drive the same, except 2012 S80 adds some new interior bits.

It is a Prestige Collection vehicle, but they are given as luxury cars on occasion. As for an upgrade cost, it would be highly dependent on the market, season, etc. I would expect about a $15 - $20/day upgrade if I were to ask for one and not receive a complimentary upgrade.

Rented a slightly older one... didn't like it.
Very wobbly, engine too quiet, and has no power. I don't like FWD, especially on large cars.
Very comfortable but extremely boring. It's a car for someone who doesn't like cars, and I definitely not one of them.

It's not terrible; I'd gladly take it over a Lincoln Town Car or Cadillac DTS or Toyota Avalon.
