Easy public transport from TXL to Westin?
Wondering whether there is a straight bus service to Westin Grand (on Friedrichstrasse). Will have a suitcase (checked so larger than carry on) as well as duffel and computer bag.
How much would taxi cost?

take Bus 128 ( direction to Osloer Straße) and get out at Kurt Schumacher Platz than take the subway U6 to Französchische Straße from there it is just a 5 min walk.
It takes about 30 minutes.
A Taxi should cost about 15-20 Euros.
For train and bus connections within Berlin have a look at

The above will work, but if you have a lot of bags, its going to be much easier to just cab it. It's really only an additional 10-12EUR and probably worth it unless this is a really budget trip. Big checked bags don't sound like fun to carry up and down the stairs to the U-bahn.
Once at Friederichstrasse, you are in a good spot to scout and learn the city's transit system, which tends to be pretty good. It's a mix of a few different systems (U- S- and busses) so its best to pick up a transit map.

TXL to Westin
If on a budget you should get the TXL airport bus which stops bang
at Friedrichstrasse, one minute to the Westin. Tickets for public transport
can be obtained at the BVG counter in the main hall.

Even if not on a budget take the TXL bus. it takes maybe 10 minutes longer than the taxi, it stops 30 meter from the hotels building and 80 meter from the main entrance and saves you 18 Euro. Taxi ismore close to 20 Euro (or 21) than close to 18 Euro.

As Flying Lawyer said, take the TXL is which is right in front of the terminal. Takes about 30 minutes, and there is an electronic sign in english? at the front of the bus which tells you which stop is approaching.
Cost was EU2.30 pp, and we carried alot of checked luggage but so did everyone else on the bus.

Is there a bus number? What stop do I get off at for Westin? Friedrichstrasse? Only 1 stop on that street?

By the way , when you buy the ticket at the airport , you might consider what options there are for buying travelpasses, daytickets etc on public transport.

Here now
Here are details. Get the ticket or pass of your choice as said above. Look for the TXL bus on the electronic signs. Go to the Unter den Linden stop (just after Brandenberg Tor). Walk back in the direction the bus came from. First Left onto Friedrichstrasse then first right to the entrance. 3 minute walk. Took me 35 minutes on a Wednesday morning.
