Here's a link from an EarlyReturns email I just received to a 40,000 miles after $500 spend with up to 10,000 additional bonus miles with balance transfers.

There is an offer out there with the same payoff (40k + 10k balance transfer) but without the minimum spend: https://www.barclaycardus.com/apply/...4&cellNumber=8
(Still has the $69 annual fee, not waived.)

Just a data point - I have the USAir card thru Barclays and have thankfully had no issues. Others have not enjoyed that particular issuer. I've also been cautious about how this transition to LCC will play out. Morale on our last flights seemed l-o-w among the crew.

I've been cautious as well. But must say that my last 2 flights have had outstanding crews who were more polite and professional than any I've had on any airline in a long time! Reminded me of the old Midwest actually.
Since I don't do balance transfers, the 40000 isn't enough. It needs to come with something else. Onboard discount, drink certs (now that I don't get those as ascent), or something else to add value. 50000 without transfers or waived annual fee would also get me to bite. I keep lots of other cards for the added value, but the f9 one just doesn't have anything right now. And when flights from den are so cheap, when would I use the miles???

I don't recall ever seeing a 50,000 bonus offer in recent history. Most common is the 40,000 point offer or 40,000 + 10,00 with balance transfer, which is a terrible deal, and made even more terrible by the fact that F9s miles are becoming increasingly worthless.
