Post How can I afford to travel and how much money I earn from Travel Blogging

Interesting write up on how you can start a travel blog and earn 1500+$/month (without cc links)

http://www.justonewayticket.com/2014...ing/#permalink

It seems if you write real content, the eyeballs are good enough to provide for a decent earning. Links do help:

Tip: deeplinks are king, banners doesn't perform well.

Wow. How refreshingly honest and transparent. ^

But I think what I really learned from that is that CC affiliates really ARE king. Like, Super King. Like Super Emperor.

I think even piker p&m bloggers make more than her monthly income on CCAs alone...

Oddly, despite having 5x her monthly views, I am never approached by advertisers! I dont think anyone else in our space is either. I did a teeny tiny bit last week for a Lufty subsidiary but that was it, ever.

On the other hand, Adsense works well for me at a better rate than she gets, primarily due to wealthier readers. And her affiliate numbers are laughable apart from Agoda (which is highly impressive).

Look at this page, though, with her detailed 3 month numbers - http://www.justonewayticket.com/work-with-me/

83 per cent bounce rate - only 17 per cent of visitors visit more than 1 page (mine is 52 / 48 per cent)

96 per cent new visits - only 4 per cent of visitors to the site over 3 months were repeats (mine is 40 / 60 per cent)

It is a remarkably unsticky site.

It also tells you something about Alexa, since her rank is higher than mine despite having 80 per cent fewer page views per month! My Alexa numbers are verified as well.

If I am not mistaken, a US p&m blogger would not be allowed to post with so much transparency because their cc affiliates do not allow them to disclose that type of info.

Is that correct?

You are correct in regards to cc affiliate links. I'm not sure the other advertisers care but the wording will be similar in their agreements as well.

Sound so much better than...

I wrote recently about earning Avios points via Tesco Clubcard by buying cheap used printer ink cartridges on ebay and then selling them to Tesco’s recycling partner.

You earn 50 – 100 Clubcard points (120-240 Avios) per cartridge, which allows you to generate fairly cheap Avios points if you are happy to make the effort required.
yawn...

Raffles I think your problem is you are just a tenant. Randy is your landlord and I would assume all the direct advertising offers go to him and not to you
