Belgium Regional Strikes

I just learned that Belgium's large unions are scheduling a series of regional Monday strikes culminating in a national strike on Monday, December 15.

Since I'm scheduled to fly out of BRU on Mon., Dec 8 (the regional strike day that includes Brussels), any advice on how likely it is to affect the airport will be appreciated.

Thanks for any insights.

The unions say they want to shut down the airport completely.

I can't access the AA site right now, but BA notified me that my Monday codeshare was cancelled. Hope AA will be as accommodating as US.

AA also has a travel advisory, but it's a bit more hidden that the one on the US website.

There's a strike announced on the 15th. Typo?

I'm camped out at hotel at BRU. Last night was a circus with people trying to get out of Dodge. Most long-haul flights have been cancelled today. US cancelled the incoming PHL-BRU flight last night. A few planes have taken off this morning, but not many. There are food services and ticket agents working in the terminal. There were multiple news warnings last night that trains, buses would not be available after 10pm last night. Tomorrow (Dec 9) is supposed to be back to normal until the Dec 15 strike.
