Effective 01AUG DXB HKT is seeing a temporary reduction from 14 to 11 weekly services with the suspension of EK394/395.
When the HKT service goes back to twice daily on 30OCT, the evening schedule will be consolidated in a daily EK396/397 later in the evening rather than a split schedule.

EK will withdraw the first 2 773s by year end. The schedule changes reflect this... The final 10 will be withdrawn during calendar year 2017.

My wife and I are flying from LAX to DXB in EK 218 (10:30 pm flight from LAX) in October this year and the email confirmation that I have says that the aircraft is Airbus A380. However, when I manage my booking on Emirates website..it says the plane is a Boeing 777?
I then read this article on Emirates which states that the aircraft is an Airbus A380. I am really confused? Can anyone who has taken this new flight answer my question?

I am a bit bummed as I do love flying in the A380...My return flight is on the EK215..so that will be on a A380 so it's not that bad.
Is there any official announcement or report by Emirates about this? I looked but was not able to find anything online. Maybe they are just trying to be sneaky and hoping not many people would notice until the day of? ...

Interesting to see my home airport (PER - Perth, Australia) moving to dual A388 services daily instead of an A388/B77W split. Maybe thats where the LAX plane went ;-)
I noticed this booking my December PER-CDG-LHR-PER honeymoon.. double good because the more convenient 2220 departure was the B77W which is what we booked.. most of my work trips I intentionally take the 0600 departure for A388 love.
Having said that this QF/EK business continues to burn me on upgrades, I take these as QF codeshares and there are no upgrade options at all. Only QFi services to Europe are from SYD or MEL which are 4 hours in the wrong direction, or I can take a 737-800 PER-SIN.. only to probably fly through DXB anyway. However services to the west coast are not only better/faster through QF but they are quite a bit cheaper not going the long way... so would be worse off in Skywards

They have done it seasonally in the past on specific dates but now it changes over for all flights after that date - so I would assume this 2-class change is for the foreseeable future, I'd guess until they feel a 2-class would be better served somewhere else.
Pity for me, as that flight has great departure times if you are staying in Dubai and always had reward upgrade availability to treat myself every so often. If I want to treat myself I'll have to settle for the 7am departure.
