From this date RUH will be 4 daily and JED 3 daily. FZ increased RUH to 4 daily this December.

The timings were previously rubbish, so this opens it up a bit more for European connections....

Well Warsaw has already been announced for as February 06, 2013 start, but I agree that Stockholm should be next in line, probably followed by Oslo.

AFAIN Emirates has already requested slots to ARN (EK 157/158) for a S13 launch.

EK157/158 is targeted for a June 03 launch, but as long as it is not announced, it is not certain. Last year EK requested AMS slots for a second daily service EK149/150 but opted for an A388 upgauge in the end.

Wish they would launch a new lounge at AMS, the present Menzies/Servisair one is quite a disgrace for Emirates customers. There is never any food that I would even look at - highly flavoured bright orange potato crisps, small, pale sausage rolls and that is about it. Minimal wines and basic spirits, no relaxing atmosphere, nothing. Hardly worth visiting at all. Staff are fine though.

Any news from EK lately? Haven't you hear EK will start direct flight to ORD, BOS, MIA or somewhere else.

I've herd the usual YVR rumours... Perhaps an upgrade of IAD to a 77W and the free 77Ls being used for YVR? One can only wish.

Emirates must have looked at this forum:

As per 17DEC12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Emirates is swapping operational aircraft on following routes, starting 01FEB13.

Dubai – Hamburg EK061/062 Boeing 777-200LR replaces -300ER
Dubai – Lisbon Boeing 777-200LR operating instead of planned -300ER. This will replace existing -200ER service
Dubai – Washington Dulles Boeing 777-300ER replaces -200LR

http://airlineroute.net/2012/12/17/ek-feb13/

My guess it that we might see Emirates announce another US destination within the next few months to utilize the 777-200LR.

Wow! What a huge improvement. I can see that. I'm sure the route will be very successful. They will have a profitable route. Maybe in the future if EK will upgrade the entire A380.
