OT: is Arkia getting mad? Sending E195 to CDG!

I was surprised to see the IZ now sends E195 o CDG! Are they getting mad? Sending a regional jet to France! 5 hours in such a small a/c? BTW, I didn't know that the E195 had enough range to reach CDG.
Your thoughts?

Barely marginal I reckon depending on config. Maybe its been retrofitted for IAF mid-air tanking...

It's well in range of the E195ER that Arkia has. It's not like Arkia has wide bodies ... I somehow believe that the 2-2 config of the E195 feels more specious than the 3-3 config of the B757-300.

I think TLV -> CDG is around 3288km
Assuming the 195 is LR, Its capable of doing 3334km.

Hmmmm... I dont think i would go on such flight... 8-)

The E-195 must feel more claustrophobic than the 753 according to what I saw...

TLV-CDG is about 2040 Nautical Miles and the range of the E195 is 2200 Nautical Miles. Anyway, it's like the plane drops out of the sky at 2201 ...

The range of the 777-200ER is 7700 nmi and TLV-LAX is 7575 nmi. Will you take this flight now?

I guess you have not been on board an Arkia 753 ...
For a fair comparison, ask JetBlue passengers what they prefer - A320 or E190?
Here is a thread in FT on this matter

TLV-LAX is only 6581nm (or 7574 mi or 12189 km)... The 77E has indeed a range of 7700 nm (or 14260 km). So, there is no comparison possible. IZ puhes the E-195 to its limits.

Or AC passengers for that matter, and I can assure you the majority will say
E170 - E190 over the A320 series.

I have heard they are not great in turbulence though...

I'm sorry, but TLV-CDG is 2040 miles which are 1772 nmi - far away from the 2200 nmi limit of the E195.

First you cannot compare E195 to 777, Maybe to 737 if not 717... 8-).

Second, We are talking about different engines, And different airplane
capabilities (i dont think E195 is designed in mind for gliding while boing is).

Third, Its a Regional airplane, Used for international flights, With Israelis!
Means normally the plane reach also its maximum allowed weight 8-)

Someone here is really pushing the limit..., I am sure they have checked
all possible aspects before doing so, And i am sure others also do
similar things, Anyway i didnt fly Arkia before and i dont thing i will start
doing now 8-)

Thanks,
Eran.

Agree.
The E-Jet is not designed for 5-hour route. A major downgrade for IZ...

It definetly does in Arkia config. AC uses it's E-195 on flights such as YYZ-YVR which is probably just as long as to CDG. Nevertheless they have a spacious cabin with a nice pitch of 34in and AVOD IFE, it's nice to fly on them I enjoyed my 1h flight from YUL to LGA however I wouldn't have minded a 4 to 5 hour flight at all. I would though in the Arkia one with their very tight configuration, then really rather the B753 which at least feels biger due to the aircraft probably not due to the pitch
