For me, if I see pork belly or lamb on a menu, I will almost always order them. Ditto duck. And at a breakfast joint, if there's Eggs Benedict that's what I'm going to eat.
Anyone else have an automatic dish like this?

Almost any fish from the gulf of Mexico - snapper, grouper, mahi, amberjack, flounder, pompano.
Almost any local shellfish - clams, mussels, crab claws, shrimp.
On the west coast - sand dabs.

I'm going to go with eggs Benedict for breakfast too. Haven't had any in ages.
Shrimp or lobster or clams for dinner but not if there is any kind of tomato sauce involved. Tomatoes with shellfish is just wrong. But my absolute favorite would be New England clam chowder and fried whole clams or soft-shelled crabs. (Can you tell I'm originally from New England?)
Dessert - creme brulee (but not after eating fried clams)

Good points above with shrimp and grits (definitely a favorite) and bread pudding. Bread pudding is one of my favorite desserts to see on a restaurant menu.
