These are the questions we can answer right now...will need to come back for some of your other questions (and I'm sure you will have a lot more).
International EC and domestic/short-haul EC have slightly different access rules. GMs were added for the domestic/short-haul EC product.
Sorry, no, but there is also no change to the Intl EC offering.
Our domestic/short-haul EC product is basically more pitch (legroom) and priority boarding.
There are a few other questions that I think I can get relatively quick responses to in this thread. Stay tuned.

There are still some interesting contrasts between the domestic and international plans.
Y, B, and M can get a non-Medallion the EC seat on an international flight, but only Y on domestic.
GM's can get the EC seat for free on domestic, but only get a 50% reduction in the fee on international.
Hence, I guess, the "Similar to..." in the announcement.

Hate to post from airliners.net, but there is a good fleet breakdown there.

The big shocker - if that thread is true - is that the A320 is going from 16F to 12F. New config is now 12F/18EC/120Y
Also MD90 goes from 16F to 12F with 12F/15EC/134Y

Imagine being in the row behind EC... with (possibly) reduced pitch in your normal coach seat (to provide room for the EC row pitch) and then have someone lean back into your lap even further than previously.
A grim prospect.

I guess my decision to go for GM this year will pay off ^
Also, I don't know what everyone is talking about with "upgrades to EC." It's not an upgrade. Think of it as a preferred seat. If you're upgraded, you go to F.

These planes fly international so it may not be worth the trouble for DL to reconfigure the IFE on domestic legs, but on purely domestic planes with IFE that may not be the case.

Now that it's public, here are some fleet details (first/economy becomes first/Economy Comfort/economy):
DC-9-50: 16/109 (125) becomes 16/14/90 (120)
MD-88: 16/133 (149) becomes 16/15/118 (149) currently transitioning from 14/128 (142) by removing rear galley
MD-90: 16/144 (160) becomes 12/15/134 (161)
737-700: 12/112 (124) becomes 12/18/88 (118)
737-800: 16/144 (160) becomes 16/18/126 (160)
A319: 12/114 (126) becomes 12/18/102 (132) +6 seats being added separately, note that Northwest configuration was 16/108 (124)
A320: 16/132 (148) becomes 12/18/120 (150)
757-200: too many variations to list, but between 18 and 26 Economy Comfort seats
757-300: 24/200 (224) becomes 24/23/177 (224)
767-300: 30/231 (261) becomes 30/28/203 (261)
So on the 319 they have 57 x -4 FC seats = a reduction of 228 FC seats
and on the 90 they have 26 of them losing 2 FC seat each = for a reduction of 52 FC seats. Total Domestic FC seat reduction = 280.

Here is a big question thats being tossed around...does EC affect in any way the complimentary upgrade structure? Does a FO who purchased EC have priority over a PM that wasn't able to select EC for free? (and a myriad of other similar scenarios..)

To me, the scary thing that was not mentioned in the original announcement is the loss of FC seats on some aircraft, such as the 320. Reducing the number of FC seats from 16 to 12 was bad enough on the 319. I consider this a bad sign.
