where does DL fly their 747-400 plane?

I'm also interested in the 777 as well

Is there a handy site that can show me the routes for these particular jets? Or is it a manual search thing? A rep at the sky club mentioned that the 747 may fly a lot out of MSP since it's a former NW plane ...

Any help is appreciated.

Minneapolis will not have 747 service this fall. For a good experience (that is, in J) fly from JFK to NRT.

I believe most or all of the 747s are used on routes to Asia. Mostly out of MSP and DTW but they change planes on routes all the time. I think delta has 16 of them with at least one in for a retrofit right now.

The 777s do a lot of routes to Asia as well but also do LAX-SYD, ATL-JNB and ATL-DUB along with some others I am likely missing. I don't know of any source to see exactly what route each plane is on but if you are looking into travel because of a plane type I'd go with the 777 right now. They are all pretty new and have flat beds in J and AVOD in Y. The 747 are just starting to be updated so you are likely to get an old NW layout with no AVOD in Y and the old NW seats in J.

Hope that helps.

Programs: Now just a lowly DL PM/1MM. This industry needs some competition. It's just not enjoyable anymore.

Here's a tip....

On Sat Oct 29th, DL will fly the 747 LAX-ATL. If you want to fly on this bird without needing a passport, that will be a great time to do it.

I didn't realize that the 777 was going to the Emerald Isle now. I'd always assumed it was going to a much sandier place (DXB)

From the recent airliners.net here.

DTW-NRT
DTW-NGO
DTW-PVG
MSP-NRT
JFK-NRT
JFK-TLV
NRT-MNL
NRT-HNL
NGO-MNL
KIX-HNL

Plus a summer seasonal addition to the DTW-AMS flights.
As already mentioned, MSP-NRT will be switching to a 777
later this fall (October 29th to be exact). You can download the
DL flight schedule from their website and search for the term
"744". You need to be careful and only pay attention to flights
listed with 0 stops and that have actual Delta flight numbers (not
code share partner flight numbers). Flight schedules can be
downloaded here.

If you look back on this board, you'll find several other threads addressing this same issue. Here's one of those...

This works out great for me on my way home. Thanks for the tip. Where can one find this information?

...and if you want to fly the 77L instead, it will be making the same run a couple of hours earlier.
