MEL Dinner pre-Oz fest Tues 24th May 2011

A number of FT'ers will be in Melbourne on Tues evening 24th May 2011.
It would be great to catch up for dinner that evening with any others that may be available.
We should be in the city by about 7pm and will be at the Hilton South Wharf around that time.
Perhaps dinner from 8pm? Suggestions greatly appreciated.

As most of us are at the HSW, perhaps we shall meet up around 8:15pm in the Executive Lounge or the Lobby, and then for those who wish to eat, we can walk to the Crown Casino. Serfty has kindly let us know of the following promotions, so we can pick a restaurant and have supper there.
Hilton South Wharf is here - http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hote...Wharf/index.do
Coupons are here -I received some links to Crown Casino promotions, like $24 for a meal and 3 drinks or seafood platter for $19.50.

We'd love to attend!

However, we are at the HSW the next night (Wed) before a full day in Melbourne CBD and a Thursday evening departure for Darwin.

Need to set things up down here in the sticks that evening ... oh, and pack ...

So, enjoy people!

I won't be there, but those of us who attended the MEL MiniDO last September were very happy with the meal we had at Brassiere (on the South Bank of the river in the Crown Casino complex). It's probably a 10 minute walk from Hilton SWF. The Nobu nearby also looked good, but they claimed they were fully booked when we planned to meet (in fact they were quite empty at the time of our meal together). MEL has oodles of great eateries; I'm sure that wherever you go will be quite good!

Though unable to be in Mel on 24th, suggest you try Number 8 for dinner. Just a mere 3 min walk away from Nobu in Crown Casino Complex. Do need a reservation. Have been there many times and always excellent service, food and beverage's. If warm evening sit outside overlooking the Yarra. You'll also be able to see the gas light show

I may not be in Mel, but I am not sure of my diary yet. If I am in Mel then I am there.

We fly out for Darwin the next day so we won't be able to make it.

My seemingly timeless work contract in Bendigo will see me...in Bendigo, so will regretfully decline.
