Carrying 2 phones into China, any problems?

I am a avid Samsung Galaxy user but since Google's blocked in China, a friend of mines has offered to lend me their iphone 6s to use in China for a week since Apple works in China. My only concern, will the security scanner or custom check give me a hard time or tax me for the 2nd phone when I arrive in China?

No worries. Most travelers being two phones to China. No worries. They don't look at anything.

I usually carry two phones in and out of China (one US, and one HK-China). In my previous job, I usually carried three (company phone) and occasionally even four (when I had a broken phone). They don't care.

I always carried three phones at all times, quite often four.

Never an issue.

Many mainlander's have multiple phones on their person.

When I lived in Shenzhen - five years ago, even - I frequently saw folks with two-three phones. Hong Kong was a good reason for that.

No, many people have two or three phones. I once brought in half a dozen iPhones for friends and I carried all of them. Not all in my hands at one time but all on my carry one.

True.

And if they're phones actually in use it's easy to explain - unlike the smugglers with them taped to body, yours are active and look used.
