This review is based on two single night stays.

What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson Blu Edvardian, Heathrow, UK

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard, received deluxe. On second stay the receptionist even mentioned my Gold status. The deluxe is a little bit bigger than then standard.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - Yes
Early Check In/Late Check Out - Not required
In-Room Welcome Gift – Maybe, one bottle of water, but not sure this was because of my status.

How are the rooms?
Good size, all basic amenities, nice décor. Everything you want of an airport hotel stay.

What was good and what was bad?
Received one of two connecting room on second stay, the door was not well isolated and you could hear the TV and conversations from the other room.

Ordered full dinner roomservice on one of the stays, the food was both good and reasonable priced.

The free local buses to T1, T2 and T3 depart very frequent (3 lines), but there’s (AFAIK) only one line to T5 which passes every 20/30 minute depending on time of day.

The building does not have very good thermal isolation so if you want to avoid freezing in the winter you must blast the AC to max temperature and speed.

The breakfast is good.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Yes. If I need an airport hotel at Heathrow.

This review is based on one two nigh stay.

What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
The Mayfair, Radisson Blu Edvardian, London, UK

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard king and received same.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - No
Early Check In/Late Check Out - Checked in two hours early and also asked for and received a one hour late check out. Don't think my status played a part though.
In-Room Welcome Gift – A first no, but when I asked they sent a standard gift of water, fruits and a box of very nice chocolate.

How are the rooms?
Very good size for London, large bathroom with both shower and a bathtub with a TV. The bed was very comfortable.

What was good and what was bad?

The breakfast is good.

Good and friendly service.

The spa was bit disappointing, the hot stone massage was good but the common areas where small, and there was no pool or jaguzzi. We even had to wait to get a warm chair before our treatment.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Yes. Maybe.

I stayed with a friend over New Years (4 nights)

What is your Club Carlson status?
Concierge

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson Blu Ambassador Paris L'opera

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked business room and received suite (booking with points)

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - Yes
Early Check In/Late Check Out - Checked in three hours early and also got late check out (we took 5pm but were offered 6pm)
In-Room Welcome Gift – Not a typical gift. The elite package or list of perks was a full page of stuff that they gave us at check-in. We were of course allowed to use the roof top lounge, we got two bottles of water from the mini bar each day, ....

How are the rooms?
The shape of the entrance area was rather bizarre. The suite has a very nice living room with a comfortable sitting area. The TVs in both rooms were rather small, the bed was awesome and probably the best I ever slept in. My friend even wrote to the hotel afterwards and asked for the model. The bathroom was dissapointing, very small. Also, in a suite I expect to have two toilets, not just one.

What was good and what was bad?

All staff was very friendly and accomodating. Description of the room above.

The breakfast was really dissapointing, especially for that kind of a hotel. First morning we had it in the lounge that is a little more cozy but with a very limited choice. Downstairs, it is a zoo and the food wasn't really anything to write home about either.
I expect a pool for such a hotel which they don't have.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Yes. Maybe. I would never pay for the hotel with money though, it is way overpriced....

There are better hotels with similar pricing in the area (The Lalit, Janpath hotel, etc.), so will probably not return.

This review is based on a week long stay in for three persons in three rooms.

What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson Martinique on Broadway, New York City, USA

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Martinique Club Level initially, received executive room. I'm not sure if that's really an upgrade as I paid for a upgrade to queen suite (20$/night). Did not receive discount on upgrade.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - Yes/maybe
Early Check In/Late Check Out - Got late check-out for one room (14:00)
In-Room Welcome Gift - Yes, cake in all rooms. Got drink vouchers for all rooms aswell, not sure if thats in the rate or because of status.

How are the rooms?
We all stayed in suites. The king/queen suits are two rooms seperated by double door. I would guess 30m2-45m2. The rooms are carpetted and haven't been renovated in a while. In my room the wardrobe door was broken. Acceptable bathroom size for NYC hotels (3,5m2).

The third room was the penthouse suite, which in itself is not very impressive, but the atrium with a direct view to Empire State building is a redeeming feature. The Penthouse is exposed to noise from the elevators. Would never pay anything near the full rate for the penthouse.

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
Good rate, decent room, good enough breakfast (15$ value) in one of the restaurants, good WiFi.

Bad:
Nothing in particular, but the in my opinion the hotel is a 3.5 star hotel so adjust your expectation based on that.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Yes, but very rate dependant.

.- What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold
- Where did you stay?
Park Plaza Orchid, Tel Aviv, IL
- Were you happy with the hotel/stay?
I feel I got a fair value for what I paid, but I now wish I'd have spent more to stay at a nicer hotel.
- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Basic Single, received Superior with (partial) sea view.
Also received free breakfast and access to Executive Lounge.
- Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade: Yes
Late Check Out: No (claimed hotel was full)
In-Room Welcome Gift: Personalized welcome letter and bottle of water
- How are the rooms? Small but adequate for one person, slightly upscale but otherwise basic
- What was good and what was bad?
Good: generous free amenities (free WiFi, international calls, bikes, business center, etc), nice location near the beaches, decent hot breakfast buffet with omelette station, small but decent lounge, both with nice sea views.
Bad: Bed had seen better days.
- Value for money or Gold Points?
Overall, they bill themselves as 4*, perhaps because of the amenities, but it is more like 3* compared to a true 4* like the Sheraton up the road. That being said, thanks to the upgrades I feel I got fair value for what I paid compared to what the Sheraton was charging.
Would you return? Depends on my travel budget. If I had the money I'd go to the Sheraton. It was okay but not a place to be stuck for 3 days of bad weather.
