What is your Club Carlson status?
Silver

Where did you stay?
Radisson Blu Shanghai New World

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard room. Upgraded to a business class room (no breakfast).

Did you receive elite benefits?
- Room upgrade: Yes
- Early Check In: Not needed
- Late Check Out: Not needed
- In-Room Welcome Gift: None. Two bottles of water provided daily.

How are the rooms?
Separate spacious bedroom with pocket door. Very nice bathroom with separate water closet, shower, and soaking tub. Comfortable bed with nice sheets and linens.

What was good, what was bad?
Good: Great location, right by People's Square and Nanjing Pedestrian Road. Metro station right across the street.

Bad: Bathroom, although spacious and nice, the door to the water closet is clear glass. The door to the bathroom from the bedroom is frosted glass. ETA: There is also a huge window with electronic mini blinds separating the bedroom and the bathroom.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
So, so value at 44,000 points per night. Burned through all my points in my account. Liked Marriott City Centre (next door) better. In addition to room upgrade, received lounge access as well as a Marriott Gold.

Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, Cape Town

What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cash+points standard room for first night
Booked points standard for three nights
However, after the first night, we received a phone call asking if we wanted to stay in the first room for the rest of the stay instead of being upgraded to the business class room. We elected to move as it was a better room.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - The points & Cash stay was upgraded so we had a view of the harbor. The points stay was upgraded to a business class room.
Early Check In/Late Check Out - not required
In-Room Welcome Gift - Yes, chocolates

How are the rooms?
The first room was nice. We had a view of the parking lot and the water. The business class room was very nice with a sitting area and balcony over looking the pool and the harbor.

What was good and what was bad?
Good: The staff was excellent.
Bad: Nothing.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
The hotel was 70K points per night. Points and cash cost 20K + $200, so the extra 50K points only saved about $100. I would return if I had an excess number of points. Otherwise, there are cheaper hotels in the city.

Where did you stay?
Park Inn, Izmir, Turkey

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard room but was upgraded to a One Bedroom Suite.

Did you receive elite benefits?
- Room upgrade: Yes
- Early Check In: Not needed
- Late Check Out: Not needed
- In-Room Welcome Gift: no welcome gift, two bottles of mineral water provided each day.

How are the rooms?
Large sitting room with dining table and sofa, tv in lunge and bedroom, two toilets, one rainshower. All brand spanking new and very pleasant.

What was good, what was bad?
Good: Great location two minutes walk from the Agean sea which is visible from the suite. Easy access from airport by bus (take the Havac bus for 11 lira to the last stop and hotel is three minutes walk on the left - taxis about 75 lira), the breakfast is served from the roof top bar and has a great view.

Bad: The TV in the lounge is attached to a pillar with mirrored panels underneath and it is very distracting seeing yourself all the time. Some teething problems with the staff not knowing about Club Carlson elite privileges but hopefully that will come in time.

Value for money? Would you return?

Definitely - a four night stay was around €170 which is very good value.

Radisson Blu Biarritz, France

What is your Club Carlson status?
Concierge

Were you happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard twin, Cash and Points, received a large room, 2 queen beds, with a massive column in the middle, obstructed ocean view, low floor. So a minor upgrade. No charge for 2 children.

Did you receive elite benefits?
- Room upgrade: Yes
- Early Check In: Not needed
- Late Check Out: 1pm
- Welcome Gift: large bottled water, cookies, candy

How are the rooms?
Spacious, Huge column in the middle of room, yes big cement column between the beds, old green carpet: Room decor is dated; Common areas are modern; But clean and comfortable; Bad coffee in rooms, but great nespresso machines in lobby.

What was good, what was bad?
Good: Location is a bit of a walk from main beach, but nice area close to a lot of shops and restaurants; Short walk to other beach, Plage de la Côte des Basques. Pool is on rooftop; As concierge received 20% off on happy hour drinks on rooftop bar. Fantastic sunset! Since hotel is at top of hill, panoramic views from rooftop.

Staff was exceptional, helped me out in the middle of night with medical issue.
Staff is fluent in English and Spanish

Breakfast was complimentary for myself, wife and children; decent breakfast, made to order omelettes and crepes

Bad: Tiny gym, $20 valet parking; Spa is nice but $, but due to being Concierge I was waived fee for use of Spa and Steam room, which was nice and well maintained.

Terrible: Old green carpet & big cement column in the room.

Value for money? Would you return?
At 75,000, not worth it, but using C&P, I was able to knock down E200 by using 10,000 per night. I would return.
Had a great time and treated well by staff.

Where did you stay?
Radisson Blu Stockholm Royal Viking

Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard room. Got Superior Room that was recently renovated on the top floor and free breakfast.

Did you receive elite benefits?
- Room upgrade: Yes
- Early Check In: Yes
- Late Check Out: Not required
- In-Room Welcome Gift: 4 stale macaroons

How are the rooms?
Very new with nice furniture, HUGE shower

What was good, what was bad?
Good: Amazing location next to the train station and Arlanda Express, very nice room with views of the water, breakfast buffet was complimentary (despite only gold status) and top notch

Bad: Even the superior room was very small (despite such a large shower), the last morning we elected a breakfast box rather than the buffet due to an early flight and it wasn't that great (banana, OJ and a ham sandwich roll)

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Great value with the free breakfast. Wasn't expecting that given other posts here from gold members, but it was granted to us upon request.

The Claridge Atlantic City

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard room. Switched from King to Double Beds and also got upgraded to an Oceanfront room.

Did you receive elite benefits?
- Room upgrade: Yes
- Early Check In: Yes
- Late Check Out: Not required
- In-Room Welcome Gift: 1 box salt water taffy and 2 bottles water

How are the rooms?
Great views, large rooms, somewhat dated bathroom

What was good, what was bad?
Good: Nice historic property in a great location in AC. Everything was clean. Very nice pool area too.

Bad: Only one window in the room and it was a shame it was so small with such a nice view, bathroom clean but tired looking

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
We got a very cheap rate on a Saturday night in August ($99) and even with the resort fee and taxes it was a good value. They included 2 free drinks at VUE rooftop bar and free breakfast ($40 credit) for gold status. The breakfast in the 20s themed restaurant was really good. If you plan on gambling, park in the Bally's self-parking garage and you'll get a free parking coupon with 25 tier points.

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Park Inn by Radisson Berlin City West

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked points standard for three nights, received standard

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - no
Early Check In/Late Check Out - not required
In-Room Welcome Gift - Yes, energy drink tea, some water and two tiny packs of jelly candy
Free breakfast - for me only, not for my partner

How are the rooms?
Rooms are spacious and clean, decor is a bit old-fashioned but not worn. Seems that this hotel has no actual double beds, as our room had two twin beds pushed together. Unfortunately these roll around quite freely so a gap forms in the middle very easily. Could hear our neighbours through the wall at times.

What was good and what was bad?
Good: Big rooms, good breakfast buffet.
Bad: Breakfast coupons for the Concierge member only, not both guests (still an exception in my experience). Wi-Fi provided by a bad third party provider and one of our devices couldn't connect (bad because support never got back to me). No actual double beds.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
The hotel used to be the cheapest and exceptional value in Berlin for 15K points and I booked it for that price. Breakfast buffet is good but barely worth the price of 16EUR/pers. Since I booked, the points price has been increased to 28K which is in line with other Carlson hotels in Berlin.
Given the price hike, no upgrade, only a single breakfast coupon for two people, and the location of the hotel, I would certainly not book this again. Unless I really need to stay in that exact area.

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson In France: Lyon, Marseille, Nice

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Lyon & Marseille: BRG using expedia.fr; Nice: Points standard; All 3 upgrade to Business rooms and better view. Modern rooms, well kept, simple bathrooms, but clean and functional.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - YES
Early Check In/Late Check Out - YES
In-Room Welcome Gift - Yes, manager's note, water, fruit, candy, local gift, wine
Free breakfast - Yes

How are the rooms?
All 3 properties were nice, clean, standard size. Lyon is more modern and has great panoramic city views, Marseille has great views of vieux port; Nice received ocean front view, high floor.

What was good and what was bad?
Good: Location, good breakfast buffet.
Bad: Hotels and rooms are just standard; No lounges.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Lyon: great location next to train station and good value when using BRG. Marseille great location in old port and good value when using BRG. Nice was 70k per night, a lot of points, but it is ocean front and there are not a lot of other points options. Rates were upwards of E300 so a decent use of points. I wish that in Marseille and Nice, restaurants had better views and not just on ground floor overlooking street.

Country Inn & Suites Indianapolis Airport South

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard room. Upgraded to 1-bedroom suite.

Did you receive elite benefits?
- Room upgrade: Yes
- Early Check In: Not needed
- Late Check Out: Not needed
- In-Room Welcome Gift: Unsure.

How are the rooms?
Separate bedroom. Door between bedroom and living area was a bit loud and the bathroom door tended to stick. Room had a microwave. Fold out couch in the living room. Living room had a ceiling fan in addition to the air conditioning.

What was good, what was bad?
Good: Breakfast was fine. Hotel was convenient to the airport. They called us when it looked like we would miss our shuttle. Wifi worked fine.

Bad: Some noise at night from the sitting area outside. While it is close geographically to the airport it is still a 15 minute shuttle ride away.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Good at 15,000 at the time of booking, especially with the upgrade.

Think your view was better. I got the skyscraper at the rear of the hotel !
