Curious [or not] that BA does the double-bow tapes, when AA and others just use clips.

How true! : ) Although I think some here would prefer to stand to the national anthem...

Poor shorthaul, thinking of always doing manual safety demonstrations so not to inflict this on our poor customers, I will give it a month before deciding.

I often mention it to my own travelling companions, but I agree that this should always be better emphasised.
And IB mention it twice, very clearly.

I'm going to hope I'm on your flights if only for the novelty factor

I am still waiting to meet any of the CC contributors here.

"HELLO" ... we're the nice quiet trouble-free older people in J, and I'm the one with the bright yellow back-pack with reflective stripes so that I can be seen in an emergency

Well that is very unlikely to happen.

No safety video beats the Air China cartoon panda, complete with great facial expressions https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MCuFhwi4hIM

BA video: unfunny and cringely as hell. They could learn a lot from other airlines.

What will be interesting is the crew's opinions on this once it's rolled out. Are they noticing laughs? More attention paid to the video? Or same old...

Sure there will be many fun games of "will the safety video be finished by the time we reach the runway?"...!

How long is the onboard version of the new safety video? The existing one isn't exactly short at 4.5 minutes.

It's unlikely to be longer than the current one but as with all things FT speculation runs wild.

I take that back given the insight from cabin crew.

It's over 6 minutes long but the crew can start securing the cabin when Gillian Anderson starts the Flying Start appeal as it is not considered to be safety related, the problem is we have to put the screens back while customers are still watching, someone hasn't thought this through!
