QR R class change to TP on BAEC [Confirmed as error on BA.com]

So I'm reading tonight that QR R class tickets won't give either TP or Avios even for previously held bookings before the change which apparently was made today with no communication? Anyone else heard this or had it confirmed?

R class was fine for bookings made from 1 May 16 before this and with one or two already booked this is deeply frustrating

I'm beginning to think it's time to dump OneWorld. I'm not impacted with any existing bookings, but this continual messing is diminishing the whole point of the alliance.

I would not be surprised if the programmes shift to 'fly-with-your-airline' if you want any meaningful benefits.

Just checked the Executive Club pages when looking at earning on QR - no more R class is listed.

Because it has been removed - used to show. But still shows in the avios/tier points calculator, which I have just taken screen dumps off as I'm flying in R class later this year. I'll be going into battle armed!

This is truly a great customer service! Just checked, R indeed removed from the avios earnings page:

But it still shows up on the avios calculator:

This really sucks. I think all changes like this should be announced a year in advance lest anyone who purchased a ticket based on the assurance that they would earn something should be caught up in them.

Still, you will have to fight with QR as they are the ones deciding what to credit (or not). And QR can always claim that it's not responsible for how quickly BA updates its website.
