R class no BAEC tier points or Avios

Hello

I spoke to somebody at BAEC who confirmed that at Qatar's behest you can earn neither BAEC tier points or Avios when you make an R class booking. Qatar requested it as part of their code sharing agreement with BA and it is likely to be like this for the foreseeable future. Time to rebel... BA lady was incredibly apologetic!

Thanks for posting!

I have quoted your post on the BA Forum, as it is more relevant there.

I may move this thread in its entirety over eventually, but I think for now it can sit here as there are many QR flyers who credit to BAEC.

See this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...usiness-3.html

It was on the BA site as earning from 01 May but has quietly disappeared over the last few days. Hopefully a mistake.

Seems that you can't credit R to BAEC anymore

I have a booking for next March / April, R outbound / I inbound. have just e-mailed QR customer service and asked for confirmation that the change will not apply to existing bookings. Will update in due course.

Very worried too for my PSA-AKL-TXL flight in R class in February as was relying on the TP for this flight.

From a QRPC perspective, the bookings will still earn with that program.

It is the relationship between BAEC and QR which is changing - that, regrettably, may be a harder one to negotiate from a customer perspective.

I'm not skilled enough to screen shot, but GGL line just confirmed no earning. I said that if you go onto the Avios Calculator, R still shows up. They were not interested and said to contact Qatar and make my case. I have a feeling we all know how that will go. My approach will be a complimentary bump to "I" fare. Though that's going to be a stretch...
