I once did a BA flight from STN-LCY due to weather forcing a temporary closure of LCY. It took 45 minutes and would have been quicker by taxi!

That is correct as far as I know except the second hand aircraft has not yet been delivered to LCY because of crew shortages.

The next question is: Will there be new routes from LTN since that was also added to the options on BA.com the other day (at the same time as STN)?
Or alternatively the ability to choose Vueling routes, as was first suggested.

It's not a very well researched article as BA has indeed flown scheduled services from Stansted before, though I think this will be the first international non-cargo scheduled service it has operated fro STN:

Here is a thread which, almost proleptically, suggested such a move back in 2012:

I'm sure I've flown with BA Stansted to Manchester in the dim distant past. Then there was that rather fabulous LCC that BA launched, Go Fly (which now reminds me of that fantastic song by Public Service Broadcasting). I only flew on them a few times but it huge fun, fore-runner of Mixed Fleet in many ways.
Once again Faro (holiday home location of choice for senior BA management, otherwise not a particularly big place) gets another British Airways airport. Amazing.
You felt the need to ask?

BA Embraers no stranger to Stansted - it's the main divert when LCY closes.... I'm more concerned that these services mean fewer aircraft will be available for the regular summer weekend 190 routes from EDI/GLA/ABZ to the Med operated by Barrhead Travel on charter. [Never really understood why they didn't operate under BA, since they are always full...]

I once went rather out of my way around 1999/2000 to fly BA STN-MAN-STN - they used the Embraer 145s. Service didn't last very long, though.
Not as exciting as Stansted's most famous visitor

The VY-operated routes LTN-AMS and LTN-BCN are already bookable on BA.com as codeshares. They don't seem to have added LTN-ZRH yet.

Discussion on which lounge they could use in 3...2....1....
(There's only one in the main terminal, the Escape lounge )
There's a fast track at STN which works very well, and Air Berlin Topbonus higher tiers can use it when flying AB which is an example of Oneworld status. So BA could certainly pay for it if they wanted to.
AB, being tight-fisted, don't pay for any other OW elite to use the Fast track for their flights (as far as I know), hopefully BA would allow any status passenger on their flight to use a fast track.

The Vueling flights from LTN to BCN have been loaded with BA flight numbers and appear on ITA Matrix and BA.com - but the AMS service, which begins sooner (in March compared to June for BCN) only shows up with VY and IB numbers, no BA codeshare.
Do we think it will, or is there a reason I've missed that they'd have codeshares to one place but not another?
