Which class maps into what on codeshare flights
Hi,
As we can now see which class on the marketing airline maps into which class on the operating airline, let's post them here.
Post in the following format, for example (for easy searches).
MARKETING AIRLINE/CLASS > OPERATING AIRLINE/CLASS (ORIG-DEST CITY) MONTH/YEAR
Let's start:
BD/K > SN/H (BRU-LHR) 03/2010
US/T > BD/V (LHR-GLA) 03/2010
AC/S > LX/T (ZRH-GVA) 01/2011
AC/S > UA/V (BOS-YUL) 01/2011
UA/T > AC/L (YOW-BOS) 04/2010
LX/Q > SQ/W (SIN-ZRH) 04/2010
LH/Z > JJ/J (GRU-FRA) 09/2010 and 10/2010
SN/U > LH/W (MXP-BRI) 11/2010
BD/H > SN/Q (BHX-BRU) 12/2010
LH/M > SN/M (HAM-BRU) 12/2010
BD/B > SN/M (BRU-BHX) 12/2010
CO/Z > UA/Z (LHR-SFO) 01/2011
UA/S > CO/S (LHR-EWR) 06/2011
So get posting!

Can I suggest BA6501 that you use your first post to keep a log of the what maps to where so that it is easier to get a summary of what is in the thread?
Definitely a useful thread though, so ^

Yes, I was thinking that we should do something like the "the new DC numbers work with the following partner airlines" thread where everything is summarized on the first post.

CAUTION!
Just remember, that fare bucket mapping is not necessarily linear - it doesn't follow that because one fare, on one route, on one day, marketed by one airline, mapping to the operating airline happens in a particular way, that the same fare on a different route, or on a different day, or with a different price but the same fare bucket, will behave similarly.
It might be instructive to gather the route data as part of this process to see if we can tie this down a bit better.
This has always been one of the darkest areas in FFPs - and even key staff are unsure of the mechanics of how this actually happens.

Hi,
As we can now see which class on the marketing airline maps into which class on the operating airline, lets post them here.
Post in the following format, for example:
Marketing airline/fare class: UA/Z
Operating airline/fare class: CO/J
Route: LHR-EWR
I'll start:
Marketing airline/fare class: BD/K
Operating airline/fare class: SN/H
Route: BRU-LHR
So get posting!

might make it easier for someone to cut and paste the info into a spreadsheet or similar to look for patterns or anomalies as the amount of data builds up.
If periodically copied/parsed into the mileage calculator site it might also become a handy addition to the info. If you specified an (optional) operating carrier in addition to the booking info then similar entries could be found and popped on the bottom of the calc screen to show what is likely to happen. If there was a consistent set of info (so all BD/K was mapping to SN/H) the calculator could base its number crunching on the SN/H bucket, even if only the BD/K on SN info was entered.

A format like that is searchable if uniformly posted - I think we have a winner. Unless someone can suggest an alternative, I'm gonna suggest that we all follow that format. ^
I'm only going to suggest that the city pair is expressed with the hub city coming first (you've a 50% chance of getting this right first time).
US/T > BD/V (LHR-GLA)
