This was a cluster #$%@ of a upgrade. I did a SDC on the outbound due to late call(Work 911). My return flight somehow got removed. Called and got the flight re added to the locator. Well, it was added as return on Thursday and being home for only 24 hrs sucks. Called back and got the flight moved to Monday, where it needed to be. Today I was getting antsy for my "You have been upgraded email". This route commonly goes out with empty F. I called today and they said that I had opted out of upgrades when on my end I was First Class Waitlisted. They were able to fix it and I cleared within a few minutes of the call.

tl;dr If you are waitlisted and within the window, call to verify.

5/27 AS753 RDU-SEA MVPG U T-2

Was U2 at T-2 w/ no one on the upgrade list. I suppose the last seat was taken by someone on a buy up or op-up (Y was booked full).

120 minutes to departure, one F seat left on thr seatmap and I'm first on the list. Feeling optimistic.

Then I refresh the app and the person who was second on the list has been assigned that seat and I'm now second...

6/5/2017 AS#632 SEA/PHX. A pair of UGs into FC for us @ T-58 hours. Both MVPGs. Tixs bought in mid-May, G fares using miles & money.👍🏼

5/31 PHX-SEA 6a departure: UG @ 25 hours
5/31 SEA-YYC 1025a departure: No UG. (of all routes)

I was able to SDC onto these next two flights from the 7p Horizon flight out of YYC. Sure was nice getting home when it was still light out.

6/2 YYC-SEA 150p departure: UG @ 8 hours
6/2 SEA-PHX 345p departure: UG @ 12 hours

I booked a SEA-BOS round trip yesterday for a trip a few weeks out.

Couldn't even use a GGU. Typical.

I booked PDX-EWR a few months ago and no GGU's appear either.
Plus they have reconfigured the first class cabin and there are 4 fewer seats....

Smile An unanticipated opportunity to UG @ BLI.

Got UG notice this AM for AS#9351, BLI to SEA. Horizon CX their flight and AS stepped in with a 737-400 to carry the load. Don't know what the issue was with the Q-400 plane originally scheduled on #2491 .

keep an eye on it. while i am finding a lot less U far in advance, they're still trickling out a few seats between 3-6 weeks advance of departure. but SEA-BOS is always a tough one.

^ Thanks! Will stay on it. My expectations are pretty low so I really didn't think I had the proverbial snowball's chance...

Fingers lightly crossed...

Good luck finding U availability on any transcon less than 2-3 months out, and even then it's a crapshoot.

Agreed. As a lowly MVPG it's pretty much a "want F? buy F" situation only exacerbated by the 12 seat F cabin.

Will probably hit 75K this year but I don't really see that making much of a difference. Little bit higher on the waitlist of fail.

transcon out of SEA and to some extent PDX that's true. SAN/LAX/SJC, not so much.
