Hotel booking on priceline

Does anyone know if it is cheaper to book american hotels on priceline.com or the uk counterpart (.co.uk)?
Also is the 5 dollar discount available on the uk site?
Any other ways to get good quality hotels in america at a reasonable price?

Can't speak for priceline UK, but I can't see them being cheaper - I used biddingfortravel.com to get some tips, and got some very nice suites for the $30 range each time.

One way bidding through the U.K. site could be more expensive is the currency unit. You're effectively bidding in USD 1.4 increments when you bid in pounds. That could result in some overpaying but it's marginal.
