Move those TWA miles to aadvantage today
When responding to the mail that explains how my Aviator's account is linked to my aadvantage account and miles will be transferred in November, the agent asked if I wanted them transferred now. I said yes, and they were instantly in my account. If you don't want to wait, give American a call.

When I spoke to the TWA rep on the phone, she said that those with no recent mileage activity on TWA would be "added to the database" later in the year... implying a sort of customer ranking. Since they are also perfectly willing to combine miles instantly in the case of a mileage award on AA, there's no real concern about when the miles will be added ... now or later. Unless you are just one of those anal retentive folk (*raises hand*).

There's at least one other thread about this in AA:

But my experience yesterday in calling the Pt number was the same as AndrewM's. However, I then called TWA, and got the miles transferred right away.

I called TWA this afternoon and requested a transfer of all my TW miles into AA. Three hours later, and they are in my AA account. Additionally, my Program-to-date miles have increased by the same amount.
Interesting that the transfer is credited immediately, when it usually takes a few days (at least?) for flights to post.

Wigs,
Did the program to date miles increase only by the number of miles that you moved over (which sounds like the case) or the total miles that you have ever earned with TWA (which may be the same!).
It is supposed to be the latter, which is an amazing gift by AA for those who have not yet hit the 1mm or 2mm status levels.
