Delta said no to giving miles for priceline tix
Amonth ago I had to get a tik at the last minute June 29-I am new to this ,but did get a temporary delta skymiles card before I left the airport.I id this on the return portion and thought I got credit for the return trip miles and was going to mail in for credit on the first part.I called tocheck miles with the automated sytem and it said 0.So I then talked to a real personwho said No--I cannot get credit for a priceline ticket re miles because it is a discounted ticket.I paid $280 including fees and taxes from PHX to milwaukee and back.If I would have made it a couple weeks before I could have gotten it for $199 on northwest, but a couple days before flight priceline was the best price. Was the Delta rep correct--no miles for priceline tix.I should not complain because I got $1300 delta dollers for getting bumped twice but would like the miles too. Thanx

Sorry, no ff miles with priceline tickets. We have a friend who is a Delta gate agent. she confirmed this for me a couple of months back when I bought from Priceline. Ironically, Delta owns the majority of Priceline. She stated that that's why most flights are ticketed onto Delta.

When you book hotel rooms through Priceline it's clearly stated that you are not eligible to earn for frequent guest points. I've heard second-hand that it's the same for airline tickers and frequent flyer miles.
Shortly after Priceline went public their market capitilization was greater than that of United, Continental, and Northwest combined! Therefore, it's unlikely Delta could have a majority stake in them, though stranger things have happened. For example, 3COM owning 90% of Palm's shares, yet have a market cap half that of Palm's for a time.

Delta DID jump on the Priceline bandwagon quite early and had warrants for Priceline shres that were at one time worth more than Delta itself. This was written up in the Wall Street Journal. Since then, Delta has sold off most of those warrants, as part of an agreement with Priceline that lets other airlines own proportional shares. Also, Priceline shares aren't selling for what they once were.

Item number five on their more details page says that none of their tickets are eligable for miles, but it's probably still worth asking, all they can say is no.
Just casually ask if they have your Frequent Flyer number in the system. They say no say "Gee, didn't realize that"

It was on the return portion of my trip that I signed up for deltamiles card and was told that the return portion would be credited. So after being home I called to see how to credit the rest of the flight.I had an electronic ticket so he just asked for name and flight number and then gave me the bad news, without me even telling him it was priceline. So I assume part of the coding on the e ticket told him it was priceline.

You can sometimes get points for hotels ... but airlines are a bit more strict.
Delta's earnings have benefited to the tune of half a billion or so from selling their stake in Priceline over the last year or so ... being a good customer of Priceline, I'm very happy about that because it can only mean good things for the airline to be earning plenty of $$$ that's not coming out of my pocket.
Priceline's Market Cap is $6.79 Billion ... Delta's is only $6.57 Billion! I personally think PL does have a good chance for success if they don't get killed by Orbitz, but I don't think they are worth $6.79 Billion ... especially when you consider Expedia market cap is only $842 Million and Travelocity's is $305 Million.

Being in the travel industry, I know that all airline tickets are purchased under different classes of service. These different classes determine the price of airline tickets therefore a priceline.com ticket falls under a specific class if service that does not allow FF miles. Depending on the routing and price of ticket, it may be best to use a travel agent or travelocity.com so that you will earn your miles.

TWA does let you get miles for a priceline ticket. I flw STL to Denver a few weeks ago and the agent said yes they do allow FF miles for priceline tickets. I checked my Aviators portfolio and the miles are there.
I know what their rules say, but it would seem it is up to the airline
