World's most secretive frequent guest program?
I seem to recall a thread a while ago about how Omni Hotels does not have any program/partnerships. I needed a room here in New Orleans for this Saturday night and practically everything was sold out buy my trusty Travel Agent got me a room at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel for $119/night (not too bad at all considering everything else was sold out!).
So, I went poking around the Omni website to see about the hotel and see if they in fact had any program or partnerships, and sure enough, they do:
http://www.omnihotels.com/pages/omni...est_index.html
But no where on the website could I find a way to sign up for this program or a phone number to call, so finally I just call their reservations number and ask how I can sign up.
Well, it turns out the way it works is that you can become a member of their Select Guest program only after you complete three stays in a twelve month period. On your third stay within the period they will sign you up for the program when you check in.
Anyone know anything more about this program? In particular, they mention that there are free night awards, what is the criteria for earning these awards? Anyone a member???

I'm not a member and never even heard of it until you mentioned it. My mother occasionally travels to Dallas and stays at the Omni Hotel in Richardson (north of Dallas). She's going back up there at the endo of the month... might want to give her the heads up about it if it's her third time there within the past 12.

I have been a "member" of Select Guest since I have been traveling to the OMNI in JAX about 8-10 times in last 2 years. However, to my knowledge all you get are upgraded rooms, chocolate chip cookie at night, etc. Have never heard of the free room nights, have never been offered any, and have never seen any material indicating how you get them. This is the first I have ever heard of the free nights. Would sure like to know how you get them. Has anyone e-mailed them asking how? You don't apply for this program. OMNI's computers simply keep track of how many times you have stayed, and then begin giving you the benefits when you have had three stays. (for that reason, you probably need to make sure that you always use the same address, either work or business, when checking in.).

DJLawman ~ You might be able to call 1-800-THE-OMNI and ask them about free nights, especially since you are already a member of their program!
From their website (link given in previous post):
Select Guest Program Omni Hotels' frequent guest program, Select Guest, provides benefits and personalized services including: preferred and guaranteed availability, accommodation upgrades, guaranteed room type, express check-in and late check-out privileges, complimentary room delivery of morning coffee and newspaper, complimentary check-in amenity, check cashing privileges and awarding of complimentary room nights.

I'm just curious if this is a worthwhile program, especially since I can often get some good deals on the Omni Hotels in downtown New Orleans (less than $100/night) on the weekends.

My office in Chicago is one block from an Omni, so I was staying there a bunch when I had a project in Chicago. In my 15 stays, they told me nothing about the Select program, and from my experience the benefits are miniscule.

I talked to a couple of reps at the # the web site supplies. I was told that one becomes a member after two (2) stays in one year, and the perks that come with this membership are rather limited (quicker check-in, card, etc.).
They also don't have anything in writing. My impression is that they don't want anyone to know about this

The perks were better in the "old days" when they had cert's you were to bring and hand in at the desk at checckout. It was a pain and I often forgot. Incidentally I never got a free night! I'm now a lost Select Guest, I guess!
