Where is Aeroplan Centre now?

I like to make a name change on my aeroplan account. I probably need to do it by mail as they require a copy of government ID. It seems odd as they didn't ask this when we first sign up...

Anyway, should I send it to Dorval or Vancouver? Which is their current address now? Thanks.

Send your name change request to:

Air Canada Aeroplan Centre
P. O. Box 15000
Station Airport
Dorval, Quebec
H4Y 1H5

Enclose a copy of an Official ID (Passport, Citizenship Card, Driver's License etc.) for proof of identity.

Or.... English speaking customers may now send all information to YVR for handling as there is a credit department there doing credits, address changes, name changes, passwords, etc. Am not at work today, but believe the address is P.O. Box 7737, Station Terminal, YVR. I believe this is the old address used by CPlus, but best to verify with Aeroplan directly.

I tried to phone Aeroplan this evening. I gave up after holding for 30 minutes... even with an Elite status. It's so hard to get to speak to an agent.

I will try to send them a fax tomorrow, to the 888 number in the Elite booklet. Anybody has any experience on the speed of getting a response through fax inquiry? Does it take a couple of days or weeks, any experience? Thanks.

Sorry to hear of the wait MoreMiles. I guess the evenings and weekends are busier and harder to get through than the weekdays. Wait times for Elite are usually only a few minutes at most during weekdays (per the Elite callers). Evenings and weekends will likely take longer, but 30+ minutes is not acceptable in my opinion either.

The 888 number for faxing goes to YUL, and being in YVR, I cannot confirm a speed of response to your fax.

Thank you CPYVR.

Yes I had better luck later in the afternoon. This time, I waited only 5 minutes. I really have to admit that Aeroplan voice menus are so complex. Once you choose an option, it reads out your mileage total and a lot more thing before giving you the options to choose. The option to speak to an agent is under 3rd sub-menu down as pressing "0" at the beginning will not work.

That agent was quite friendly but couldn't help me to change name (as expected). She gave me a courrier address (not a pobox) on Maisonneuve, Montreal for quick response. She also stated that lots of faxes are lost because of unsolicited junk faxes. So the delay is quite long. So I will go to FedEx tomorrow to send them my request. Hopefull some one will open it and process it this week.

Save your money and use XpressPost. Your documents may take an extra day, but will get there just as safely at less than half the price. The deMaissoneuve building is where AC's Montreal call centre is based, where the SE desk still resides, and where Aeroplan operations were based until last month.

English speaking customers may send to:
Aeroplan Customer Service
P.O. Box 7737, Station Terminal
Vancouver, BC V6B 5W9

Couriered items still have to go to YUL address on Boul de Maisonneuve.

That's another advantage of XpressPost. These can be delivered to PO boxes.

Just an update on my name change request mentionned above. I think someone got my fax on the Elite 888 number yesterday and made the change.

I call the Elite line to confirm this. However, I also found out that www.aircanada.ca is not real time at all. It is still showing my previous name. Technical support for interactive service said that it should be updated in 2 to 3 days.

The problem is that I tried to book some seat sale ticket (last day!) but the travel agent reservation system does not recognize the new name yet. My FF number was rejected.

Hmm.. it's either because the change is not made yet and people at call-centre were lying to me or the reservation systems (eg, Sabre/Apollo) also connect to the outdated information (similar to www.aircanada.ca).
