Ju guyz want a longgg post? Try this! (contest for many miles, etc) BofA

I just saw this one (item 2 marked below) in the FFC newsletter the other day and have entered a Bank of America (oh gee, our favorite!) contest that requires SIGNATURE-BASED transactions!!!!! (so not the PIN ones)

Here below is all the info I got off the link. It was so slow to load I decided to paste it in here for you and yet I did not type the whole thing (the grammar's too good for my style, eh?)

It sure seems like a shot at a few miles-or hey, the free trip itself! Why not! You can print it and try to win. Maybe the bank or airline will see this posted here and know we mean to bring them business too by entering.

Wouldn't it be sick if I *won* this thing and ended up on Nat'l TV shooting a basket ball for a million AK miles? Ha! what a thought. Even I must laugh.

I have just found out that WT is an office neighbor and a puppy in the forum of fun as well now. He sure had me fooled. I did not know he was IN my building! He got me.

We will win the bank's mile-BBall contest. Wait, was that me using your pc or you using mine? Our bosses will get upset. This is funny.

back to miles earnings though. Sorry all.

you are right Cactus. Sorry for any confusion --to all.

I did just discover that WT works with me and has been posting after checking out some of the stories I told about all this stuff. I dont think he is such a miler though so I don't think it'll keep happening. I told my co-worker donwstairs all about the forums and the interesting ways people react to certain things like the heated BofA thing.

He is a writer himself who enjoys such things/situations. We ARE 2 dif people though so I am not dup-ing. He posted and then later came to tell me of this gag. I then went to his desk... etc etc.

I have since mentioned that it is not such a good idea unless he-and I have relevant miles things to discuss only. Thus, I digress. What can ya do though, eh?

And so, have you entered the contest Cactus Pete? It looks good.

I've posted several million-mile contests on this forum (which I feel are more in the realm of MilesBuzz than SPAM) - none have been moved to the SPAM board. However, I would like to see a separate contest forum on FT. I know of one poster who has won a million-mile contest (not from what I've posted); there's also questions of valuation (no one should have to claim more than $0.01/mile, regardless of the 1099).

Having said that, so far I've won 50,000 AA miles from a contest a couple of years ago. I also found out two weeks ago that I won a contest through cbssportsline.com (hasn't posted there yet) for 60,000 Starpoints (which I had to convert, according to the rules, to airline miles for tickets), 5 nights at the The Orchid at Mauna Lani (which they changed to 6 nights due to a schedule conflict), tickets to the MasterCard Championship (January 27- February 3, 2003), a $500 debit card, and a round of golf with a Sr. Tour player (which should be interesting since I'm a hack).

It is possible to win these things.

I've gotta agree with singlemalt's suggestion of a separate contest section on FT, although this has been suggested in the past by others (doc, myself and a few other members), but it has always been nixed for one reason or another. Still, wouldn't it be better to have all contests in one place on here (including those contests and sweepstakes open to those outside of North America)? Contests for miles and points are appropriate on FT, and they could be cross posted to the forum of the sponsors also.

I think you know from experience that it would be a fairly small list - but I'd still vote for it. Don't know if I've posted this before, but here's a contest link for Canadian residents.

http://www.cashnetsweeps.com/page.php?do=page&cat_id=18

There is a link for winning 1,000,000 miles (open to the US, too), but don't get too excited about it - the odds of winning are 1:100 million (which is why I didn't post it before).

Thanks for the new link, singlemalt.

Yep, we've seen other contest sites only avalable to certain areas, but the one's posted on FT should relate to miles and points, whether they're exclusive to certain geographic locations or not. We agree that a contest forum should be on FT, now how do we get Randy to try it?

On the above link, click on "One Entry", then on "Holidays & Travel" - it's the 3rd listing on the page. Or just click here:

http://win.ipromotions.com/winseeker_020301/

You have to pick 4 numbers from 0-99 (in the right sequence). According to my math (which is not always the same as everyone else's math), that should make your odds 1:100 million.
