Aeroplan Miles

Does anyone know if Aeroplan miles will be availible for use for other items like the Air Miles are (watches, movies etc)? Could this be part of their Aeroplan.com strategy and would other people be in favour of this?

AC has indicated that one of the reasons they have spun Aeroplan off as a separate subsidiary is so it can expand into other forms of incentive marketing. Expect to see some announcement formally introducing products for redemption. However, I personally feel this will dilute the program and make it lose its primary focus. Let's keep it travel related with flights being the primary item for redeemed miles.

I know some will disagree and feel they travel too much and have no opportunity to use their miles for travel.

But this is a good topic to solicit such views from heavy earners and light ones alike.
