Eurostar Frequent Traveller
A tip for occasional transatlantic flyers resident in the UK, France, or Belgium:
If you fly United Airlines, you may be better off putting your points in Eurostar Frequent Traveller. For example, a return flight from London to New York requires 50,000 miles with Mileage Plus, but only 30,000 miles with EFT -- a savings of 20,000 miles! Practically every award to the United States is cheaper with the exeption of flights to the west coast which are exactly the same.
Plus, you can use your miles for hotel stays, car rentals, experience awards, and more. The program admittedly has limited appeal, but it's worth checking out.
