The thermal camera correctly picked out 75 percent of the 'guilty' individuals and 90 percent of the 'innocents', a control group who had no knowledge of the mock crime.
Let's see, so out of every 100 people boarding a plane asked if they're carrying a bomb, 10 of them will be flagged as lying? I wouldn't consider that acceptable.

(Yes, I know I'm distorting facts to say what I want, but isn't that what the media's been doing all along? )

from the same respect, does anyone doubt that bill clinton could walk up to the sensor with a gun in one hand, and a thermo-nuclear device in the other, and still get both on the plane?

This will never work. Having watched a woman turn red because she pulled out a personal belonging with her passport, could we accuse her of lying because the temperature around her eyes increased?!?

As mentioned before, the probability rate is scary and secondly which I believe is being overlooked- added security fees. If $10 will be added next month to tickets, how much will this new technology cost us? And of course, will this deter those whose sole intent is to attack.

Solves the Amtrak funding dilemma.

All politicians will have to take the train from now on.

Except Bill Clinton, perhaps. Expect he could get away with it. C'mon guys, what's with this continued Clinton hatred? He's gone, already.

How'd they test this thing? Hook it up to airline executives and have them say "Fuel surcharges are only temporary and will go away once fuel costs return to last year's level."

If you use this tool in conjunction with someone trained in questioning and reading body language, I think it'd be a good tool.

After all, small changes in body temperature is a little too subtle for even experienced interrogators to notice on their own.

It's just important to remember that technology won't fix the problem by itself, it's the skillful use of technology which will fix our problem.
