10,000 miles for MCI sign up..

Just a note to say,

I just signed up and received
ATT's 2000 SPG point promo for online billing and subsequently changed to MCI for a whopping 10,000 point bonus.

5000 automatically (30 days often sooner) and 1000 per month for 5 months. Plus 5 miles ...etc, etc.

Not an un-common occurance for me,
just thought I would tell the others
out there with time on their hands,
that there are miles to be had. They
charged me 10 dollars to switch, but I
cannot see this to be other than a cost of
earnings (COE) by accoutant's rule.
MCI also threw in a 1.50 credit and a
60 min phone card good GLOBALLY
(not satellite) but good for me who
travels to CDG alot and need to call the
house now and again.

FYI

What was your timing on the ATT switch - i.e. how long were you with ATT before you switched back to MCI?

I should restate a little. I signed up for ATT, enrolled in online billing for 2000 Starwood points and called MCI in reference to the promo I saw mentioned on the website below. I need to wait until I receive my first statement to ensure they credit the miles to Starwood. The miles were for
merely signing up for online billing.

For those who need a link to Starwood promo...

http://www.att.com/starwood/

MCI confirmed that the 5000 miles are immdediate,(post time 30 days) and 1000 miles per month for 5 months. You have to ask for this promo, it is not advertised. Not just for AA miles, several airlines are listed.

This is not a direct link, click
then look for frequent flyer link on left,
then go to long distance. It will give you
the tel numbers to call.

I will give an update when thing happen..

Hello FTers,

I suggest that anyone who may be interested in this MCI promotion may want to do a search on the MCI page. There are many tales of signup, monthly service, and other bonus FF miles NEVER being credited in spite of many requests.

MCI owes me approx. 7-8 K of Delta Skymiles from 2000-1 and they have NEVER responded to an inquiry. Needless to say, I am not one of their current customers.

By the way, Delta's response was that I needed to correspond directly with their partner.

MCI has credited about 17000 to my delta account for past 5-6 years. But I am still short of about 5k miles which they never posted. I have had major problems with MCI. I keep switching between att and mci however cos of these promotions. i recently signed up online billing with att and its been 2 weeks and i have not seen my 2000 starwood points. I called att and they mentioned it takes 6 weeeks..

No problems yet from MCI, have gotten all my miles over last two years. Even some extra skymiles were posted. I just switched to Sprint and when my Platinum upgrade from AMEX goes through, I will switch back to MCI and get my 5,000 bonus miles

Okay, I have received 5 e-mails about this link I found...The original link does not work because of Java or something...so I will place the ecact instructions here for everyone to partake...

Go here first...

http://www.geocities.com/freeairrewards/index.html

Up top/left is a link for Gary's Travels...click there.

On Gary's Site LEFT SIDE in the red/burgundy area, click on "Frequent Flier Miles"..

Scroll down about 1/3 page to Telephone and ISP Offers...

Scroll down a little more to MCI and it's there.

It is impossible to give anyone an exact link, because it must be XML/Java Enabled, or something...what I may have posted does not work.

Follow these instructions and it will work. I went there as I wrote this note...Good luck!

I called and they had no problem with it. So it works...Just ask firmly.

Am I stupid? Just a note for those who
e-mailed me. You have too much time on
your hands! I followed the original link
just fine.

If I were a fireman, boy!

Anyway, glad to help.

Allrighty, it works...this from a satisfied
recipient of one on my responses to their e-mails...I could charge 4.95 at E-Bay for this info, you know...

Thanks!

I just called MCI and registered. They immediately picked up and said '10000 AA mile offer?" and I said yes...

You may just respond to any future inquiries with:

"You can get a 10000 mile deal (probably for a six month commitment) for American Airlines or Delta Airlines. First try calling (800) 338-0125 for American or 800-215-2920 for Delta. If that doesn't work, try calling their customer service number, (800) 444-3333, navigating to a customer service rep, and asking specifically for the miles. I did that navigation by entering my phone number and selecting the option to cancel my service, but the rep told me that any customer service rep could set you up with the miles. Note: I got this information on 12/21/2001 during the conversation I had with a rep while closing my MCI account. A reader tried to get this deal on the same day, and was told that a 10K deal is only available as a targeted promo from the airlines themselves. If you get this answer, I suggest you talk to a supervisor or call back until you get the answer you want. Another reader told me in February 2002 that he successfully threatened to cancel and was given an offer not to. He says that the Delta number is #ZD4Q, American is #ZA4Q. These are different than the ones I give elsewhere. So try them all until you get what you want. Also, posted on the FrequentFlyerForum: "Ask for Promotion #ZA4Q ... The MCI folks I talked to said that was the "promotion code" to use for the 10K miles deal. If that doesn't work then have them manually look up the deal. They'll find it, eventually."

The link is:
http://home.earthlink.net/~pgary/Miles.html#MCI2

and also this:
After you sign up with MCI, you can get a dollar per month off your bill, plus 60 free state-to-state minutes by calling (800) 232-4486 and telling the customer service rep that you want to sign up for MCI EasyPay with eAlert, an on-line and credit card billing system.

Thanks!!

I am very pleased to hear that the offer I listed on my site is still available. I plan to try to get it myself in a few days.

My site is designed with frames. Most brosers can handle frames. Unfortunately, some search engines and some posters here are providing links to the specific page within my frame structure. Using those links deprives the user of the benefit of the index at the top of the page. To use my site as intended and to get full benefit from it, please use the address below. Then click on Free Frequent Flyer Miles in the left menu, and use the index at the top to read what you want.
